Negative allowance is not given to grey cast iron ...it expands ONLY in first two stages...

Grey C.I is only expanding during liquid shrinkage but during solid shrinkage it has normal shrinkage there for pattern size should be greater

Sir previous gate question gate me 1999. Which material requires largest shrinkage allowance while making a pattern for casting . Ans given is brass. But as per ur class ans must be plain carbon steel. Which is correct can you please explain me??

Steel have overall high shrinkage . Aluminium high liquid shrinkage. Brass have high solid shrinkage
