Casting a Copper Skull Trapped in a Copper Bar - The Growing Stack

In this episode, I set out to make a clock that I have made in a previous video from aluminum. I wanted to try and cast it in copper this time, but I made some text book mistakes and still tried to go forward with the casting to see if it would still work. It didn't, but in the heat of the moment of it all, another idea came to me. What I ended up with, I thought, was a pretty sweet piece.
I hope you enjoy!

It’s like you took the creative artwork of Adrock and combined it with the ingot style of BigStackD and created a friggin masterpiece. That is awesome! Now I’m curious to see how many melters start to imitate this masterpiece.

I still think the clock is a money maker. It might take a little trail and error with some leg work but just businesses that would be interested off the top of my head Scrap Yards, Machine Shops, metal distributors, etc. That would be the first places I tried, then once you get a good knowledge of price point get in touch with commerical designers. Basically the interior decorators for commerical business. Love the skull in bar, that is awesome.

Definitely the sweetest bar I've seen across the 4 different melting & casting channels I watch. Been having a little hell myself but I'm pretty sure that goes with the territory when you're a noob to this, I've got plenty of patience and as soon as I get some good shit going I'll let you know. Btw, you ever have problems with your burner spitting and sputtering & trying to go out on it's own? Mine has been doing that and I end up having to turn up the pressure but then, if I don't watch it, the metal starts burning.....my copper melt was a disaster and I swear it's most likely burned up, I know the propane crucible was which is why I won't be doing copper again until I get a Legit crucible.
@TheGrowingStack
@TheGrowingStack 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joseph. I haven’t had a sputtering problem with the Devil-Forge. I use clay graphite crucibles from PMCSUPPLIES.COM They haven’t let me down yet. It sounds like you might have a different issue if your forge is acting up. What does your setup consist of?
@MrJco54
@MrJco54 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheGrowingStack, I think I figured it out already after revisiting several past videos throughout various channels. My torch is too far inside the forge and that's most likely what's causing the issue. Unfortunately I don't have a welder yet so I don't have that short piece of round tubing that sticks out where you guys connect your torches so I had no real choice but to partially shove mine into the furnace itself. However, I've come up with an idea to remedy that and as soon as I can find the 1 component I need I'll be able to fix that problem with a little southern ingenuity since I still won't have a welder.
