Great tips! I love fishing in the wind..up to an extent 😂 The fish love a foam hopper in choppy water. Caught a 6lb bass and 5 smaller ones, a month ago on 3wt fishing for bluegill (and around 30 of them) in steady 15-20 mph wind with gusts to 30, keeping cast low as you demonstrated. I also practice, practice and practice some more whenever it gets windy, that helps immensely! Have a great Memorial weekend MRO staff! God bless those who gave all for our great country. 🇺🇸

I like this . Can you show us walking the flats with the wind coming from the right. Sight fishing . I fish in Aruba with minimum 16 mph winds. Trying to target fish while wading with wind pushing you. I don’t have that extra elevated position.

Worth remembering. Fish go where the food is. Wind blows insects onto the water, so it makes sense to fish into the wind.

Is that an echo boost blue rod? What weight and how do you like it Brian?

Pretty sure it was a TFO Axiom II X rod and not an Echo. You'd have to confirm though with Brian. He can be reached at the shop via e-mail or phone.

I found that if you can make 1 out of 10 casts in swirly 30 mph winds on the salt, you are a hero caster on 15 mph days.

No, depends on how much line you are looking to shoot. Directly proportionate to the length of cast needed.

Personal choice there for sure. We always have spinning rods on the boat. Always.
