Nice melt my friend, zinc really does pick up some great details. I have a chunk i need to melt down one day. I think its around 30 lbs, but I can't remember exactly lol

Nice one! Do you intend to make a video of it? Missing some melting vids lately from you ;) I do not have time to watch everything anymore, but now and then I watch others melting the good stuff, I have not seen you making something the last weeks :(

How do you get the temp. right ? It´s a pretty narrow band before the material boils and you are at risk to get zinc fever. Also I have seen you cut the material down with an angle grinder, don´t do that, use shears instead, otherwise you can breath in the zinc particles and get sick.

I always wear a respirator while melting. For the grinding you are totally right! I do not have proper shears, but I should wear a respirator too in this step. I have a experience setting the choke and pressure and have the lid open to keep a steady low temperature. Normally I have it at 0.02 PSI 😉👍🏻👍🏻

@@Metalstacker Yes please wear a respirator while grinding too and don´t do that in closed spaces. I don´t mean to lecture you, just want to make a comment for other people who read this too. I see you have figured out the temp with your equipment, very good. That´s something I still have to do. I can get my hands on some scrap Zamac from my company since we produce parts for the automotive industry. However I completely lack the equipment, my only means of melting metal is a stove and a small gas burner. My goal is to 3D print a master pattern and then cast it in metal. Have you done something like that ? Any advise ?

@@sierraecho884 thanks buddy! I have no 3d printer, but I made several sand casts, you can look them up on my channel 😃👍🏻

How can i recognize zinc? there is so many silver color metal out there. Any explanation appreciate m, thanks 🙏
@Metalstacker Жыл бұрын
Hey there, zinc is pretty easy to mould in different shapes, it also tends to get white oxidation on it overtime and as a non ferrous metal it will not be magnetic. Hope this helps 👊🏻🔥🔥🔥
@buentaste Жыл бұрын
@@Metalstacker Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond. You answer definitely helps but I have seen many silver color metal and the majority of them does not stick to the magnet. For instance i took apart a small meat grinder and the metal on it does not stick to the magnet. it is a thick piece and does not weigh that much as stainless steel also it's very hard so the magnet tactic dont work in this case. Also I have noticed aluminum get white oxidation. Do you know besides those manners to find out what metal is? thanks...
@Metalstacker Жыл бұрын
@@buentaste zinc is heavier than aluminium, so that should defenitely make the difference 😃

@@Metalstacker Correct, I believe my emotion betray me when I find metals and don't stick to the magnet i get exited and frustrate and can't think right. I want to know so bad what metal is ..also there are so many alloy that make it worst for me Thansk one more time for your time on answering me. Your input help me a lot ..🙏
