I think this is the episode where Beckett realized that she really was in love with Castle. She realized how badly she wanted him to be safe, how much she would miss him if he died. In most of the episodes after this she is much sweeter to him. The way she touched his collar made me think that she forgot that she wasn't dating him yet. And that smile...

I think she knew she was in love with him, way before this, but in this episode she realized that she could have lost him without ever letting herself love him and experience his love for her. Probably she also realized that not being with him didnt protect her heart. She was already in love, already invested. She would be devastated if she lost him. In my opinion that helped her realize she didnt want to waste too much of time. It probably pushed her to open up to him a bit more, to be a bit more clear about her feelings and end goal. Kind of like she knew before but she could pretend otherwise. After this, it became harder to pretend that she didnt need or want him because her truth hit her right in the face. It was lovely.

Beckett's eyes when she smiles at Castle are so beautiful...I have a few clips in my "favorites" that really show their feelings for each other...makes my stomach flutter every time...

Her second smile is like saying "I Know Rick, I know you love me, and you're cute for wanting this to last longer because I did too." I love how she watches the Castle family hug and smiles, she loves his family and wouldn't mind being a part of it.

I love this scene so much. I think it's my favourite out of all the scenes in this show. This is the scene where all the fans can see that Kate loves Rick and Rick loves Kate. Her first smile when she sees him is like saying "Hi, I'm so happy you're okay, I love you so much." and Rick is looking at her and thinking "Is she really smiling like that at me? Could she really love me?" and then Martha interrupts them, Rick bumps his head and Kate sees him and smiles again

I honestly don't blame you. Season 3 and 4 are my favorites because you really start to see how deep their feelings are for each other. There are a lot of brief moments through out seasons 2&3 where we get a glimpse at how Beckett feels, but the 4th is where you really get to see the vulnerable side of her. That's probably why this episode is a big favorite among the fans. I still recommend that you watch the entire series because it makes these scenes so much better because they've come so far

This, "Tick Tick" and "Boom" are my favorite episodes. They're faces when the bomb goes off and when Beckett's apartment explodes are priceless. You can see in their eyes and face how much they care about each other and how much they love each other. Stana and Nathan are such great actors, gah♥.

As I said in a coment of a clip of that episode, where they kiss for the first time to distract a guard, and at the end she puts gently bandage on his hand, the writers of this show simply understand what love is all about, and Nathan and Stana playes It with prefection. There is not just candy romance we are used to in movies, It is love with It's ups and downs. They talk all the time about everything, they simply complete one another, and sometimes drive each other crazy, but they are each others whole world, and that's what love realy is, It is hidden in small details, when they go on a burger and just talk. Me and my wife are on 5x1 episode at the moment and we love It.

No, they do not, in fact Nathan made them end this show, when Stana was not coming back for the last season. The show's ratings did fall down in season 8 and totally was due to writers. Hated season 8.

@Alieh86 I agree with you. They were caught in the moment, and kind of had to be brought back to the real situation. They both know that they love and care about each other. Even though they haven't actually done anything yet. The love is there and they know that. I think that whole scene was just amazing. Now I just can't wait for them to actually show each other how they feel.

Beckett's reactions are very good. When the bomb goes off she looks like she doesn't want to believe that that just happened and then she exits the van the reality sinks in. I also like the look Alexis gives Beckett when hugging her dad and grandmother. Before this episode Alexis probably liked Beckett, but considered her dad's partner. Now she loves Beckett for watching out for them.

I agree, I love 3 and 4 too. Most people seem to prefer the earlier seasons. Season 4 did have some angst but it was really only a few episodes and those are the ones I tend to watch over and over on my dvd.Plus the fact that 47 seconds was the first episode I ever watched so the later ones are my favorite.

This one of the best episodes, but two things I would have changed if I were directing this. Number 1) I would have had a reaction shot of Alexis when the bomb went off and 2) I don't think Alexis would have waited for her dad to see her before she ran up to him. For the character it would have made more sense for her to run up as soon as she saw them come out of the bank. (Especially after she gave Beckett the "they're are all I got" speech earlier in the episode.)

Ughhh!! This scene, this episode... kills me! I'm only just now properly watching Castle from the beginning - I'd seen quite a few random episodes here and there since my grandparents watch it & it's been a tradition for me to go to my grandparents house for Dancing With The Stars for most episodes for the past few years! So since Castle airs after DWTS on Monday's, i had a tendency to just go ahead and stay and screw around on my laptop while also kinda watching Castle along with them. I only really started paying real attention during S6, and even then i wasn't watching every episode. I did watch the S6 finale though and now I've been watching every ep of S7! Anyways, I'm on 4x15 - Pandora, right now and I'm just loving this show, I'm so glad i finally got to watching it from the beginning!

That's just your opinion, which you are entitled to. However, it might be more decent - or at the very least, more tactful - for you to keep any thoughts which may be considered insulting, derogatory and/or infantile to yourself. If you really do love this show, I'd think that you would understand why some of us are so wonderfully passionate about such moments of raw emotion and also appreciate how excellently they are conveyed. That's just the opinion of another guy though.
