i still can't believe this season is over!!!!!! it ended amazingly but now i can't wait 4 months to see season 6!!!!!!!!!!!!! its just making me go crazy!!!! and its only been less than a day!!!

Perfect finale! Remember back when Castle was advising Kevin how he should propose to his now wife..and how Castle's thought of a proposal was so extravagant! And Kate said no, it should be simple. So I think this was just right! And he had the ring ready, so we know this wasn't an impulse! And that poor woman was struggling the whole episode with the thought of having lied to him! But she just didn't know how to handle it...and she wanted this situation to hurt him as little as possible.

They always end the season with a bang (more so in the later ones). Season 1: Castle prys into her mother's case and could get kicked out. Season 2: Beckett breaks up with Demming and is about to tell Castle when he walks off with Gina. Season 3: Beckett is shot. Season 4: Caskett finally gets together. And now, Season 5: The Proposal!

From what I'm seeing, he's just letting her know that she can have both. He is willing to make a commitment to her and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her no matter what she decides. It's all up to her now. I don't see why it was terrible timing considering how Beckett has been thinking a lot about where their relationship is going. Now she knows.

Here's what I think is going to happen... She's going to say No, or I have to think about it... accepts the job in DC, ends up hating it because all she could think about is Castle! All of this happens in the span of the whole season 6 til the season finale when she comes back and tells Castle she chooses him. Now, I REALLY hope I'm wrong and she just saves all of us Caskett shippers some heart break and say YES.

It would've been nice to hear Castle clarify things better before he took the ring out. Something like "I will support you wherever you go, whether that's DC or here, I don't care. Because what's important is to have you in my life and make it work matter what, because I love you....." and THEN pop the question. As it was written it seemed sudden and incomplete...kind of half-hearted.

I think Beckett will (and should) be pretty upset with Castle about this. She went there to discuss HER huge, potentially life-altering opportunity, and he throws a proposal at her? Terrible timing. Especially from a guy with 2 failed marriages already.

Ehh, sure it's implied, but his body language was limp. It just kind of happened. A proposal doesn't have to be a grand gesture but he should at least say something more to affirm his commitment than "whatever happens, whatever you decide..." These two do not communicate enough as it is, and Beckett goes from not knowing where things stand to Castle on one knee before they even TALK about it.
