Castle Acre Circular Walk, passing the historic Castle Acre Priory

Join me as I walk you around this 6 mile Castle Acre circular walk which takes you along the pretty River Nar, into English woodland and out onto open countryside, ending the walk besides the ruins of the magnificent Castle Acre Priory.

What a lovely walk, can you tell us if we would be able to access this walk with my 4x4 electric powerchair please, we are planning to visit Norfolk in the near future and it looks fantastic and just the sort of thing we enjoy. All the best Wendy and Jon in Derbyshire

Thanks for your lovely comments. There’s a gate to get through before you reach the wood and you have to go up and down some steps to get over a bridge after the wood (both of these are near the beginning), both of which you can see in the video. Hope that helps.

@@ExploreNorfolkUK Thank you for the quick reply, I had seen the first gate but couldn't work out from the video if it is a normal gate that I could get through (my chair is 28" wide) or a kissing gate with a restricted swing and no area at the side for me to drive into and then swing the gate across. We would be happy to just visit the Priory and then tale a walk as far as the steps you mentioned if that is possible, because it looks lovely.
