In season 6 episode 3, when Beckett is at the precinct as a federal agent, Castle wants her to go against orders and tell him about the case she's working on and tries to bribe her into telling him by giving her a latte with a foam heart on top. She says "Castle, you're not going to Castle me on this one".

Over all I think this is the best pre-Caskett episode...between this scene, the line " so many layers tothe Beckett onion how ever will you peel them all " her trying to find a formal dress in her closet and then her reaction(s) after getting Castle's delivery. And of course...." pana na na na na na na " and Castle trying to take the thug out with the windshield wiper. This episode was nearly perfect.

Fun fact: Richard Castle (and maybe even Nathan Fillion) is cross dominant, which means he shoots with his right hand, but sights with his left eye. You can see it when he closes his right eye to shoot. This occurs in 12-15% of the population. (I just tested myself, and I am also cross dominant!)Anyways, I love this scene. Their early banter is awesome :')

Didn't know there was an actual term for it as I was forced into being cross-dominant in my shooting due to being right handed and blind in my right eye. Learned to shoot lefty for rifles and I guess forced cross dominant for pistols.

Sadly I think it would have been better if it ended 2-3 seasons earlier. Cast wasn't sick of each other, and the writers weren't trying to shoehorn random events together to extend the story.

I started watching Castle because of Nathan (a faithful browncoat, I am) and LOVE all the subtle Firefly references. The show is great, probably the only one of the currently running shows I wait forward to every week. Although personally for me nothing can match the awesomeness of Firefly.

Alternatively, he was in fact aiming for the guys gun at that time, and wisecracked about it in Castle style (albeit a bit harried at the time - a way of easing the tense moment). I personally think he was aiming for centre mass in that incident but shot a little wide because of, as you said, the high stress environment =).

If you read mystery stories the gun facts and procedures are awful. The writers don't care to do research. You would think Steven King would try to learn something but he is one of the worse. Hollywood is awful too until someone like Keanu Reeves tries for accuracy. But he still is only an actor.

Castle's sexy level in this scene reminds me so much of Booth on the shooting range, coincidentally Season 1 of Bones when he spins and shoots the target. The two men have so much in common, but what I love most of all, is how they both downplay their strengths, to make the women in their lives feel in control (too cute)

@sammathew4U He's probably joking in that later instance, BUT, shooting at a practice range and at an actual human being in a real-life situation are very different. He's probably only ever shot at a range, and might have legitimately missed when aiming for the guy's head. BUT he did manage to shoot the perp behind Beckett in a non-lethal spot in the season 3 opener, so he's getting better haha

Dunno if you noticed, but they both match up perfectly, no matter the age. Some young boy wouldnt fit in this role, because they couldnt deliver a grown writer with a teenage daughter, how could that work out? It couldnt. Nathan is a challenge for Stana, aswell as the other way around. Some young boy couldnt be taken seriously for Beckett. Aswell as it wouldnt believeable that you have that knowledge Castle as with mid-20.

You ever wear earmuffs. They don't cancel out sounds, they just dampen them to the point where they won't cause ear damage. If there's no other noises in the background, you can still here someone if they are standing close and talking loud.

Anyone noticed the mistake in the series? In this episode it shows that Castle can shoot on target, and in episode 2x18 he shoots a guy hand, and says "I was aiming on his head." Funny.

That was actually a reference to Firefly where Nathon Fillion's character had a penchant for shooting guns out of people's hands instead of killing them and he would say "I was aiming for his head." And that was a joke in of itself because his character was a deadshot and when he wanted to he could headshot anyone just by drawing his pistol underhanded.
