Absolutely gorgeous, I can understand using carpet on the floors, for warmth we live in a nearly 200 yr old house in rural Ontario, Canada made of field stone & brick. I cannot wait until another video is uploaded. Well done to the both of you, it's going to be a work and progress for sure. Merry Christmas to you and your family and also the entire team helping with your journey.

Stunning!! sympathetically furnished to the highest of standards. Can’t believe anyone would question carpets in a castle, particularly in the upper stratospheres of the property AND the bedrooms ?🤷 I eagerly await the next reveal. Merry Christmas Tim

If I started, I wouldn’t be able to stop. But I’m gonna try 😆 You guys make me chuckle. Your enthusiasm is contagious! If I keep saying “love” it’ll seem disingenuous but it’s true. Love the utilization of natural light and the secret rooms (that second one I don’t recall so was 🤯) - great job Mr. D! The tea/coffee/beverage cabinet/station! You can never have enough storage! Enough house hunting where upon exiting you have to go back and reconfirm - there’s no closets! 😆 The designs, decor. So love the WM wallpaper and pictures! Understated they don’t take away from the castles beauty. I’ll have to look up the artist as you suggested. I love hardwood floors but the warm/insulation carpeting creates and allow you to walk without shoes, sooooo wonderful! lol - Ms C 👏 And may I just say those radiators in the first room!! A first ever seeing and love. I wonder if they create a more circulated warmth over floor/baseboard heating? I think it’s awesome that you’ve given credit to those involved. They’ve been characters in a production which has enriched the experience and enlightened us of the details and work which went into the entire rehab. Through discoveries and challenges, there are no failures but lessons, yes? 🙌💪

Thank you so much for showing us a finished area. Renovations and remodelling can be very frustrating for everyone during the process. Having this finished area is inspirational. I, too, love William Morris, but my daily reminder is not wallpaper but the coaster for my coffee cup next to my recliner chair!

Wow! So beautiful in so many ways. The bedrooms are both so gorgeous, the bathroom is amazing, I love the window in the first bedroom that lets you lie there and look at the night sky or the rain. Love the secret entrances and the little playroom is so cheery. Loved hearing about the construction side of it too. You have done an amazing job with that attic. Beautiful job! So happy for you guys to have a finished space! This might be standard for the area but I really like how the radiators look in the rooms. Almost sculptural how tall and narrow there are. I watch other French Chateau Renovation channels and their radiators are much shorter, deeper and wider. Looking forward to your next progress video!

Loving this content. Fabulous to the see the results on this journey too and clearly great workmanship going in. An observation coming from someone living in a smaller version of Knockderry, I think you might be in a bit of a quandry with the interiors. I love you want to be sympathetic to the period - hence William Morris but please don’t be limited by what you think an interior of a Scottish castle should look like. Take yourself off the the Fife Arms for the weekend and soak in the dramatic interiors which I believe was driven by their art collection. They have a bed nook too in one of their rooms which is a dream, lots of tartan but not twee. Use your platform to seek out collaborations with Scottish designers prominent now (thinking Timerous Beasties, Anta, Araminta Campbell, Mairi Helena, Voyage Maison). I love the Chateau du Purnon collab with Farrow and Ball. But lastly, be brave and try and push your comfort levels with the interiors as the building can take it. For me, that would probably entail more colour. What a project. Keep up the good work!

I love what you’re showing to us and what you’ve done with the attic in the castle. This is going to sound petty and it’s not meant to, but in your descriptions, there is a massive overuse of the word “absolutely”
@Scotty726819 сағат бұрын
@jenny - don't fuss. It's a passing language trend! Another word will replace it soon enough. My Californian grand daughter used "basically" for a few months!
@SusanNewton-q8b17 сағат бұрын
Really, is that remark necessary, and yes, it is petty & irrelevant.
@rhondalemay168614 сағат бұрын
The William morris posters framed is so cheesy. This is a castle, IKEA poster style does not fit. Is that Berber carpet on the floor?
@jenniferjones340819 сағат бұрын
CARPET IN A CASTLE????? ☹️
@Scotty726819 сағат бұрын
Why ever not? Surely you don't think they should use rushes? There is a lovely carpet in Castle Mey, that was used by the Queen Mother. She had it brought up from her home in London, and when it didn't fit, she cut it to size, so the pattern isn't balanced!
@jenniferjones340817 сағат бұрын
@@Scotty7268 wall to wall carpet doesn’t belong in an old castle. Bet there weren’t any in there when it was built. 😊
@LaughingWarriorVideo17 сағат бұрын
It’s actually highly likely there was originally wall to wall carpet in many rooms of the castle. It’s only from the 19th century, and in the 1800s it was more expensive, and highly fashionable to have wall to wall carpet.
@rhondalemay168615 сағат бұрын
