I am happy to say that the castle layout has been prospering. Thanks to the availability of pieces as well as some new Castle themed sets, the area has seen great growth. But this may have been too much of a good thing as I am already looking to expand the area.

The castle section does look impressive after only a short while! One idea for the 3-in-1 castle is to use one of the alternate builds for it. I don't know if it will work in scale, though. Awesome to see Queen Rebecca in all her splendor with her royal guard♥

Ill need to look at the other builds for it. This might be a good approach. Thank you!

Alex, you really don't need anymore space. You have plenty. In medieval times, a lot of the buildings and things were very close together and compact. The castles can be further apart but you need to get most of the other buildings closer together. That will give you a ton of space.
@charliern
@charliern 6 ай бұрын
I agree. And I would even suggest some of the castles should be combined. It looks stranger having so many small castles in such close proximity. When you could have three or four really large impressive ones far apart. The smaller buildings would definitely look better closer together. Farmland could be on the outskirts of the village area with crops snd everything else. Your trees and paths do look amazing. You've spaced them very nicely. Definitely try and keep a section for the Forest Men. There is a lot to achieve with this space but I think you can do it all with what you've got!

Greetings Alex, maybe for the road as you are adding stones or rocks, maybe add puddle or a few. Even in the muddy area, a couple of puddles. Yes you have about 2feet to move the black sheet back for extra space. But you still have plenty of room for stuff without moving the sheet yet. Yes it was surprisingly that lego didn't ask you to do a review. It is Great they ask you do early reviews on some sets. All the Best look forward for the next update. Chris from Ontario, Canada

Medieval area is looking good I wish animals were more widely available for cheaper The buildings are very spread out, if necessary you could consolidate them

Looking good. You could add a few rabbits to the forrest area. Those are Lego animals that are fairly easy to obtain.

And maybe one surrounded by bones near a cave?

Some chickens wouldn't go astray. Early on, they also had fish ponds, self sufficiency gardens organised in patterns with walkways. But they also hunted for deer and wild boar. Plenty of scope in the space for that. Maybe some random hermits and some witches? Lurking pinch pockets? Very interesting period with lots if scope. But this looks really amazing.

Suggestion: You could move the medieval blacksmith all the way to the back, it’s bigger in scale than the rest and then with the optical illusion it will look smaller in comparison

Layout looks great. Love the amount of space you've devoted to the thing. I would love to see some more foliage like grass and scrubs here and there covering up some more of the green like in between the beautiful trees. You mentioned already you want to add more details so definitely not a nitpick. Just something I'd love to see added to this. The town walkway looks fun and lively also.

Where do u buy all ur bricks? For example on my road plates are a lot of studs on the sidewalk exposed and i wanted to add 2x4 darkgray tiles and i did the math and i need more than 1000 of those tiles and the minimum i could find for al those pieces was 200euros (20 cents a piece) which i personally think is a bit much.But i dont know if thats normal if u know a place i can get a lot of pieces for less money,i saw on aliexpress that i can get the same amount for 50 euros but then fake lego which i dont know if it will be ugly (old school plates(2nd question do u use fake lego urself because lego is so expensive.thats it bye!

My bricks come from three things. The best is when I see pieces I need in a bin at my LEGO store. This allows me to buy large quantities for cheap. Not everyone has a LEGO store, so the next best place is from Bricklink sellers. You still buy by piece though. Finally, buying PAB on the LEGO website. Honestly, I only buy tiles if they are at the LEGO store due to the cost and quantity needed. Not sure this helps, but good luck.

In your amusement park update, you said that you were trying to make the Pirates of Barracuda Bay work with possibly integrating a roller coaster with it. If that doesn't pan out like you want, you could move it here in your castle layout (if you ultimately decided to expand the layout) and have a pirates section
@alexnunes
@alexnunes 7 ай бұрын
A pirates section sounds great. I think that is a good backup plan if it doesn't work out.

Love the castle theme Lego. There’s never too much Castle. BUT….. I know for me personally, crawling around on the floor, as an older gentleman, is getting a bit too difficult. I also follow a guy up here in Canada called “Bricksie” who has a large Lego collection. He was also running out of space, so he turned his “hobby” into his business. He set up a company, which acquired his collection and has just rented a huge space downtown to set up and expand his hobby. So any Lego the company buys is now a business expense and he is an employee of the company. Perhaps that’s the only way ahead for real expansion. Just a thought.
@alexnunes
@alexnunes 7 ай бұрын
I would love to do this. My goal is to move my collection to a backyard structure. There's space out there, but might be awhile until it is in the budget. I am familiar with Bricksie, he's an amazing KZbinr. That's really cool how he has his collection setup.
@MrPolleyr
@MrPolleyr 7 ай бұрын
@@alexnunes if you build in your backyard, it’s at your expense. If your “company” buys or rents a space somewhere your company uses it as a business expense which is a deduction on its tax bill. I owned my own business for 15 years. Everything and anything I bought for the “company I bought was a right off and lowered my company tax bill…..considerably. You go to the Lego store and spend $1000, it’s out of your pocket…….if the company buy $1000 of Lego, is a business expense. Plus….you are an employee amd get paid to shop for, build and KZbin your results. I’m an old retired guy with just a few more years to go……if I was a young man, I’d be a Bricksie in a minute. Just sayin😎👍🇨🇦

@@MrPolleyr I appreciate that. I do have my YT channel as a business for tax purposes. My upstairs studio is a full write off as well as the LEGO and equipment I purchase for the channel. It helps. I think what Jordan is doing is quite extraordinary, however it is not what I have in mind for my future with LEGO. I like having my collection in my home. Time will tell though.

@@alexnunes …thanks Alex, I understand completely. Being in Canada I realize that you have some much better tax deductions as a home owner than we do up here…unfortunately.🙃 I discovered that years ago while visiting friends in Hartford. They were telling me that they could apply their mortgage payments to their income taxes and get a reduction of 1 to 1….wow. We get no deductions on personal ,or property taxes. Anyway, love you channel, never miss an episode. If you and Mindy ever come to East Coast Canada, drop by. My American wife would love it.
