Castle In The Sky Reaction | Studio Ghibli Saturdays

Finally watched the first official movie from Studio Ghibli! They truly don't miss.
Definitely had a great time on this adventure with Sheeta and Pazu! Dola and the Gang were awesome, and Muska was a nut!
Another movie that will be a mainstay in my household!

Most definitely. Howls moving castle and spirited away should be up soon. I just have to tread carefully with studio ghibli they hit me with a copyright strike fairly recently

Yo biggest recommendation since you watched Princess Mononoke already, is Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind! Great movie! Came out before Studio Ghibli was founded but it's still considered their work and it's in collections of their work as well. Came out 2 years before Castle in the Sky!

One of my favorite Ghibli films, along with “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind”. If you are interested in more Studio Ghibli works, also check out “The Castle of Cagliostro”, it’s not strictly a Ghibli film but it was directed and screen played by Hayao Miyazaki, the guy who directs most of the Ghlbli films.

The images during the opening of the movie of the flying castles explains what happened more or less, eventually they all came crashing to earth and the people lived on land again instead of in the sky

Princess Mononoke remains my favourite animated movie! Joe Hisaishi kills it with the soundtrack in these movies ♥ The dubs for the most part are usually pretty good but this one in particular I much prefer the original Japanese (the female just didn't hit the mark in the dub). I hope you react to Nausicaa next, the older Ghibli films are really amazing!

15:50 maybe style of the uniform. But not the colour in general. German army in WW1 used to wear predominantly grey with red or green coloured seams. And not green all over. That was a thing of the US and English soldiers. However, with the green seams the uniform sometimes appears to look more green.

This was my favorite Ghibli film. Howls moving Castle is not related to this film . Castle in the sky looks like it was loosely inspired by Future Boy Conan which was made partially in the 70s by the same guy who made castle in the sky . Future Boy Conan was a TV series in Japan and now available at Amazon.

Conspiracy theory videos are one thing. But the pronunciation of 'Ghibli' starts with a "soft G" sound. From their official Kanji (スタジオジブリ), the name of the production company is pronounced 'Sutajiojiburi'. That's 'Jiburi' for the name of the studio, not "Gibbly". You're welcome.
