I just picked up their batch 1 100 proof for $42 in SoCal. It’s sweet corn on the front then gets oakey before finishing with a hint of cinnamon. I am impressed, and for $42 will get this again. And as you know, the bottle rocks! It will become my new infinity bottle.

have both 1 & 2. We also watched the Movie "Neat" and wanted to love these so much but they are both the worst bourbons my wife and I have tried. a HORRIBLE after taste. Nose is good but the taste.,...... We revised them 5 or 6 times and nothing changes. I even left the cork out of one for 2 weeks and BLAHH It can't be the distillery as Blue Run and some of the Pin Hook are distilled there and they are among our favorites. Sorry to say but I suggest a HARD pass. Bottles are very nice looking though.

So, your paying more for all the "fancy" packaging than the juice and its just too young & unproven with the classic scenario of "look over here at all the flashy bobbles & please ignore what your drinking".... exactly what i expected & why i dont want it yet.

I didn't realize it was 4 year old when I bought it, but knowing that when tasting it...I actually didn't hate it. Was expecting it to be a lot rougher around the edges and I'm not unhappy about spending ~$50 on it. I thought it tasted way different than it smelled, and the sweetness that come forward on the palate wasn't overpowering. I don't regret purchasing it but I probably won't go out of my way to buy another one real soon. Also, I'm not one to care all that much about this, but that bottle is pretty cool.

We just went to Castle and Key. The distillery is beautiful and you should definitely go if you find yourself in Frankfort! Wasn’t a fan of the bourbon or Restoration Rye 1. Batch 2 SiB was better imo. They had a lot of barrels in their rickhouse though so I’m hopeful for their future!

The bottle is definitely the show and the bourbon is just what you would expect from a younger distillery. The hype & expectations surrounding this release was crazy though due to Marianne and most who were there did not even know she had left! Great review as always glad to help out as always.

Gotta disagree about giving the pass for being a younger distillery. Look at what Wildnerness Trail and New Riff are doing with 4 year old juice.
@TheNightAngel0221892 жыл бұрын
@@PorcupineTreeEOJ I didn’t say it was a pass and they are not either. It just not something I would buy again currently. In general a lot of younger distilleries 4 year have this issue. New Riff and WT are where they at because they are exceptions and that is awesome. C&K has more work to do with their own. It is clear they know how to do something right, their contract distilling game does well.
@jasono.16292 жыл бұрын
Hmm 4 years old and tastes bad and youthful. That’s no accident, this is a weak distillery. There’s many young distilleries (Frey Ranch, Wilderness Trail, etc.) that put out 4 year stuff that tastes really good. Thanks for the honest review guys! (mainly Sean 😆)

Interesting video. I bought their Restoration Rye. For $35 it’s got some interesting things but not mine blowing and would probably rather spend another 10 or 15 on certain ryes. I will say the way I thought it was 90 proof and when I saw it was 102 that was kind of impressive how easy of a drinker it was. Anyway keep up practicing those tasting notes so you guys can both whip on the Greeze next Matt Madness
