I think that castle is trying to be more like Tekin and what I mean by that is have a more smoother running ESC more for off-road vehicles and like my grandpa always told me (if it's not broke then don't fix it) they are known for their power .We can buy bullshit anywhere but its hard to find a good powerful ESC

Hell at this point the only option is to use the heli esc's and use manual brakes. Damn shame, makes no sense to try to save on warranty claims by limiting power output n higher cells. Most people use CASTLE because they were always known for their BALLS to the WALL output power. But they want the sane amount of money or more for those X esc's. Good video of pointing this out Mr. Steele.

I just so happen to have a sidewinder 8th scale esc on hand .. wondering if I can use it in my kraton? Any info will help. Great vid Nick! I had horrible results with the pussy ass XLX too. Full throttle feels like half throttle. Data logs for my 6s Cordova motor only showed 2 HP and 111 amps. Switched to a XL2 and power immediately jumped to 10.2 HP and pulled 361 amps! Same car, batteries, gears, everything! Castle tech support told me to email them my logs. 5 emails later and no response. I know they dont like people doing speed runs with their products but we are spending the most money. In the last year and a half I've purchased at least 15-20 Castle ESCs, at least 10 motors, and a ton of other accessories and this is how they treat their best customers?! FUCK CASTLE!!

On the old Monster and XL2 you can roll back the update to 124 and it has a current limit that you can turn off for unlimited power! You can do it on the new Monster X, but castle is working on programming that you can roll back the firmware to that 124 update! Hope this helps you guys! I got that info from Joe at Castle!

Wow purchased two of the mm x last month for a couple 6s off road builds, already installed them, what to do now, Shitty move castle. Maybe run the lipos in nimh mode with low voltage alarm which should leave the power flood gates wide open I wonder if that would bypass what castle has done ?..........Maybe I will just use them in my crawler / trail rigs

Those X's and Monster sticker aren't the advertised... :P Got Castles that go silent for no aparent reason... when other Chinas are still going strong!! :P But by the way, have checked if the X's have torque limit active or something? I guess that's just a firmware thing...they made 6s or 8s for the masses, and the ESC's will cut half of power to survive! :P bahhhhhhhhhh. They will lose customers doing their stuff like this and like that....

Good to know on the MGM I was wondering why there wasn't any speedrunner using them. Thought it was pretty much the price tag. That's why I never liked the X0-1 or anything that's locked out. You buy it you own it ,it's yours to do what you want with it. None of this asking permission BS.

My recent experience with Hobbywing Max 5 3-8s esc was wack too. Power cuts out after 1 or 2 seconds of full throttle. HW tech support said the esc goes into a safty mode if you run more than 1000kv on 8s and 1600kv is max for 6s. SMH

Hello from Germany, I have a question about the max voltage Ripples. I use a MMX in a X-Maxx (6s) and I have max Ripples up to 3,8V. I use a Castle cappack. I see that you have higher max Ripples. Do the Capacitors reduce the Ripples? ... or do more Capacitors only protect the ESC that these higher Ripples dont overheat the ESC? Or do I think too much about this thing? ;) I have 145A Max current and about 3200W max Power.

My XL2 just caught on a fire...i have a HPI Baja 5b Flux...should i get another XL2 or should i get the newer one....i don't mind replacing it...i don't know what happened but i was in parking lot just driving and all of a sudden it just caught on fire...please advise

Sorry for the late reply...i did end up getting the XLX newer version on my Baja Flux...i haven't noticed to much of a difference in speed....seems the same...i never did any Logs before...but i should Start...lol....Your pretty Fortunate to have the XL2 not give you any problems...I'm sure it's a great esc...the XLX seems to be working fine...i just got a Losi 5T Roller and i plan on using the 2028 & XLX combo in that with a 6s...

Rock Crawler speeds!! LOL!! Now one question.... have you checked the top speed or only aceleration? I guess the higher voltages on firmware will become simulating a "gas" clutch in aceleration, which is a good thing for offroad powerhouses, but top speed should be the same... or top speed is CUT to? If top speed is cuted it's a melon, allright! Also check with lower kv motor's...it could be that firmware see's to much KV and cut's the head right away!!

I know when I ran on 8s with low kv 1400kv and the gearing was 19t 44t it give me the same power and data logging info as the xl2 but that was about maybe 80 mph if it's a

if it's just a warranty issue just give us a 1 month warranty I can live with that this video is not too castle bash Castle we need to call in and let them know what we feel about this ESC issue I mean if they'd be honest and would ESC just said this ESC is not the same as the XL 2 and then we can live with that now you giving us the option not to purchase it or purchase it and then we just just move on and find something else obviously everybody like your product
