Everyone's favourite tune from New Super Mario Bros for the Wii! And the 3DS... And the Wii U... And the-
Buckle up your overalls, straighten up your cap and get ready to step foot into Bowser's castle! For this remix, I tried to go for a vaporwave-ish style. I don't know how well I succeeded with that, but I thought it sounded neat anyways. Special thanks to the livestream viewers who tuned in and pitched in with encouragement and suggestions! Haven't forgotten the underrated castle theme from New Super Mario Bros (DS) I see. I like the ending. Only Bowser is smart enough to always put a Kill Bowser button at the end of end of every bridge.

When I hear this, I imagine a cold rainy day in Neo Bowser city, Bowser waits patiently looking over a balcony ledge, the city's tall and massive structures span on for miles. Hundreds upon thousands of people who have devoted their lives to him roam around the city, unaware of what was going to happen next. The elevator arrives with a ding, bowser hears it yet doesn't turn around. Mario walks in, looking down at his feet, dressed in a fiery red and white. Bowser stands there waiting for Mario to make the first move but nothing happens. Bowser turns around reveling a huge scar on his face acrossed his right eye, as well as many other cuts and bruises. Stitches line up and down his body, his flesh looked thin and dry, his face structure is only held up by the shape of the bone below. Mario's only apparent injury is a red stained tear on his shirt, will a red bloodstained cloth underneath. Both look in silence, seeing how far each other had come, with a raging intense energy filling the room. Each has an infinite amount of hatred for the other, that was fueled by the suffering they had gone through just to get to where they stand now.

Darkstar 71 Damn, that’s very detailed, but I think it perfectly captivates the tension between Mario and Bowser, and how far they’ve come. All because Bowser wanted a princess. Personally, I think that Bowser should either just forget Peach, and go after something else (like in 3D World, but with a more graphic plot like Galaxy 1), just go after Mario, or step down to a darker villain. Maybe even Ganon.

It's great to get another remix of this song! I first heard it in NSMB for the Wii and instantly fell in love with it. It was so moody and dramatic with a nice Gothic edge. This remix takes the basic tune and feel of the original and revives it with a techno edge. It sacrifices some of the dark dreariness for an upbeat tone, which doesn't hinder the song all too much. It's like a continuation of the original song; the original would play on the first part of the level and this would play right before or during the energetic boss fight. If Bowser decides his next castle will be in the style of Cyberpunk, I sure hope that this will be playing in the background. Great work, NoteBlock!

I love the edit mode castle music in Super Mario Maker 3ds. The play mode version has a section that sounds like Nier music. If you don't know what Nier is, look up the Nier Gastalt DLC remix tracks.
