I enjoy your videos very much. I like what you do. I painted a long time ago and was approaching an acceptable level of mediocrity when life got in the way. So after 40 years of not painting I have gotten interested again. I am interested in the Caribbean ocean and beach since I have taken 13 cruises mostly to that area. But above all I am drawn to water and rocks (I love geology) but not in traditional "pretty" scenes. There is a beauty and allure there that I can't quite capture. I am thinking of a puddle or very narrow slow stream in a draw that reflects the sky and the bank but there has to be more in it...and not sure what else for the back. Meanwhile, till I work that out, I would love to see more tropical beaches...not romanticized much, not overly brightly colorful, and then scenes with rocks and water. I do have three in the process but boy am I rusty. I also have trouble (once again) in wanting too much perfection and struggle to do a "painterly" image. Maybe you could suggest some practice scenes just to loosen a person up and not make a real for viewing painting.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos. I definitely encourage you to keep painting. I walked away from painting for four years while I was in college, had some ups and downs with it in the last few years, but it is something that brings me some of the purest joy I think we can have in life. It's a process that never leaves your soul. And sure thing! I'll try to put together a demonstration of a tropical beach scene soon. I'm also currently filming a lot of smaller 8x10 type pieces, which I think you will find helpful when it comes to loosening up and shaking off the rustiness. I also think some of my newer paintings which have yet to be released on youtube will help you work on that loose, impressionistic realism style that work in almost all of the time. My goal is to paint shapes and nail the colors and values. Very often times, people who see my work up close say it looks almost abstract, but from 6-8 feet away it looks like realism. That is due to my free style. Once again, thank you for watching my channel. I truly appreciate it!
