Two incredible moments that really put Beckett's character evolution in perspective. First, watch her face right before he gets down on one knee. She can't look at him, her jaw is set, lips trembling, throat working - everything about her body says she's braced for an incredibly painful blow. Second, the simple, direct way she says "Castle, I love you." They're not in danger, they're not arguing, and her tone is completely casual, like she's stating something she considers a well-known fact. When you compare this open, honest, vulnerable Kate to the untouchable, often-annoyed and fight-or-flight Beckett we first meet, the difference is absolutely staggering. THIS is how you write and portray a realistic character.

The only thing I've ever regretted about the VALKYRIE episode is that they couldn't take a few minutes for Kate to tell Lanie . That would have been a major scream fest. And the tears. Oh well.

I only just discovered this series a few months ago while watching it with my parents and I don't know how I've missed this show all this time. I'm beyond hooked. What an amazing series! Castle & Beckett are phenomenal together in every sense of the word. I really need to get this series on DVD.

Well it is no secret that they filmed these two parts separately (his proposal at the S5 finale and her "yes" at the S6 premiere months later) there are two big bloopers. One her hair is a bit different but two the lighting in the two parts is different. It's not as sunny out when he first proposes but when she says yes it's suddenly a bright and sunny day. Still a great and much anticipated moment.

The ONLY problem with this (the season-split aside) is that they took the camera away at the very beginning of the realization on her face. We didn't need to see Kate's reaction for half a second and then two seconds of the ring. Just my opinion but I would bet that after all the build-up over the years of this show, Stana NAILED the proposal reaction and we basically missed it. Otherwise bravo, and thanks a ton for the dubbing.

They could have filmed the end of the proposal before they broke for hiatus. So the 1st time we see her after "the acceptance scene could be established in dialog as "months later". Then the hair change & the passage of time at the 12th would have made more sense.

I wish that suspenseful music in the season 5 finale had played into the credits... so we could hear it without the dialogue. That's what sold the scene. Castle was completely poker-faced. His voice was almost gravelly. His usual body language was gone. Contrast that with after she bolts upright. His voice jumps back to it's normal territory... and his emotions are back on his face. The poker face is gone.

Because they never really defined where they were going. She knew he loved her and he knew she loved him but they never talked about their future together . There are a ton of hints throughout season 5. Her asking if he wanted more kids. Then just starting to open up. Rich guy Vaughn trying to kiss her because he was flabbergasted Castle hadn’t put a ringer on it yet. Her asking him where are we going and him misreading it and truth be told once he got her, he didn’t try as hard. Beckett was way more affectionate so she was unsure . And he had to realize he could lose her after Vaughn and then if she took that job. So he did what a man needed to do lol

Sort of like she got minor plastic surgery or botox or something - but then why would Stana Katic do that? She looked perfect already. No it was a spring-fall time in between those 2 clips and sje doesn't look that weird but u do have to take in count that during the summer she taned so her skin looks little bit diffrent and there is also the diffrent condisions as u can see in the second part of the video the light is diffrent
