Her facial expression morphed without her appearing to move her features at all. It shows incredible sensitivity to the subtleties she became famous for as Kate Becket.

I've binged watched Castle so many times I know the dialog. Still trying to find evidence that Katic and Fillion did not get along. I'm unwilling to believe that their supposed conflict was one of the causes of the show's cancellation. You can't fake their kind of chemistry. If so, then they were damned good for eight years. I will NEVER believe the 'they hated each other' story!!! Katic was spectacular as Beckett. No one else could have played her. Fillion was just as spectacular as Castle. No one else could have played him.

She had jokingly called him a sexist pig in a street interview and it stuck! Exaggerated to the max as no publicity is a bad one. I am surprised that she hasn’t been a Huge star. So so talented!

its funny how in the first season Beckett says she's never been married and yet later , I can't remember which episode, she WAS married but somehow forgot. I am a fan of Bones as well and found it interesting that both shows seem to borrow plot ideas from each other.

I finally decided to give this show a chance, after hearing about it for years. This first episode's storyline was good. But, Rick Castle was played as such a smug, over-confident ass... just too annoying! I'm not a fan, will not be watching any further!

To each their own, but to me he gives the show needed levity. That said, de definitely calms down after the first couple of episodes and even more in later seasons. Ultimately your choice, but I think you'd be glad if you gave it another shot.

I always just focused on Beckett's character because Castle's character like you said comes off as a smug over-confident ass and he really used to P me off sometimes, the other character's are a lot of fun to watch and make you forget what an ass Castle is, the story lines are really good too and the comedy sometimes will have you laughing out loud too and the sad moments will have you bawling but it's an amazing series and you really should give it another chance :)
