You know, I feel like these sharks are a bit dense... I could be totaly wrong here since I have absolutely no prove (I'm not reading the comic further than these Dubs go), but didn't the prohicy say that "the blood of the beacon will lift the curse" or something like that? In that case, they might not even need to kill him. A bit of blood is all it takes. And a bit of time, probably.
