Castlecomer Wellie Race origins in the Powley Vale .St Stephen's day . Started originally in the Powley Vale Mahura near Castlecomer in 1978 and despite moving to Castlecomer on January 1st 1981 a race is still run by the Powley Vale community every year on St Stephen's Day. (Boxing Day UK)
