That is such a great tip on chalk and the tomatoes and cucumbers! Thank you! Your garden is so beautiful and tidy, I wish I could keep up with the weeds this Spring but at least we have rain, sun, gentle wind and things are finally growing. I'm very envious of the artichokes. well done!!!
@CastleHillGarden5 ай бұрын
Thanks so much Lisa, the weeds are a nuisance this year due to the weather, I'm hoeing once a week to keep them down. Gemma was very pleased with the artichokes, took the all home. Take care regards from us both.

OMGOSH I'd never heard of the chalk tip! I am going to text my husband to stop this evening on his way home from work and pick up a bucket of sidewalk chalk at our local dollar store. I've got lots of toms and cukes planted and this will be so helpful! You are so knowledgeable about gardening. I always learn something useful when I watch.

Hi Cliff and lovely Diane After seeing you use the chalk last season val went and got some for this and have applied it had to be green chalk for me 😅 We have not had any luck with spring onions so far this season hopefully that will change with our latest sowing .

Great to hear Bill & Val, I find It works well, also can be used on pepper plants. It has been a funny year for spring onions, although not in my area. Good luck with the next sowing, regards from us both.

Well in all my years gardening I never knew about the raspberry lure! And I wish I could get lettuces to grow like that… all I end up with is a slug infested mess … how do you control slugs? ❤
@CastleHillGarden5 ай бұрын
Hi Rita the beetle has been around for a long time. I use bitter beer in yoghurt pots, slug pellets, and coffee grounds and I still get the odd slug. I do catch a lot in the beer. Take care regards Cliff.
