Born and raised in Hamworthy, David Brown. We referred to the big railway bridges as the double arches (not McDonalds), My sister and I loved to stand under them and shout to hear the echo. That sister still lives very close to those double arches. Thank you for this - a lovely bit of nostalgia to wash down my breakfast in in my home in Canada today.

Super video packed full of information. The only slight negative is that all your wonderful information and maps comes out so fast that I often have to rewind or play your videos on slow speed with subtitles!!! Has inspired me to get out and try to repeat your route for myself. Such a shame so many lines across our country were not kept as rights of way.

At 85 its beyond me now but I cycled from the Willett Arms along the LSWR old track as far as LIdl Hamworthy only a few years ago, reminded me of the late fifties when the train fare was 1 shilling & sixpence, no contest against a gallon of petrol for our 1933 Lanchester automatic. (The original Poole station exists to this day at Hamworthy).

Loving your channel, so well put together and informative. Absolutely love the local history, I love walking the castleman trailway amongst others, I'm from Canford heath and also a fellow drone flyer, although looking at your videos I must try harder, keep up the great work 👍.

@@MavisFilms Ha ha, that's amazing, I fully understand your pain, normally 3 hours of footage for a 4 min film. But as long as we enjoy it, that's what counts. Long may the videos continue 😎👍

Very interesting and informative. We've walked the length of the current trailway (in sections) up to ringwood. I didn't realise there was some sections you could still get to might have to do a bit more exploring!

Thanks, and I use bike-nav! Phone with Komoot app with the route pre-programmed. HOWEVER, it's not fool-proof against idiots. Last time I did the route, I came out of Brockenhurst station, decided I knew better than the map I'd prepared and merrily sailed off in the wrong direction for a couple of miles! The railway sections are easy, but getting round the 'burbs of West Moors and Wimborne was fun.
