I was born in "Chateau l'ait" Birgidale road..went to St Maggies Primary and sec> My grandparents lived in the Mitchellhill flats...recognise lots of streets, shops,community centres...fabulous...well done M8 a truly documented pictorial history of ane of the biggest housing estates in Europe. Thanks Andy, happy memories indeedy. I was brought up in 18 Ardmaleish Road. My Family moved there when I was three, about 1958. Man they were the days, it was like the country. Happy memories and I had tears in my eyes watching the video.

This is brilliant,brought back so many memories. We moved to 214 Ardencraig Rd when I was 7 yrs old in 1974 and moved to Croftfoot in 79. My old close is in the 2nd pic, first close on the left next to the old 37 bus terminus. My gran lived in the mitchellhill flats opposite. I've lived in England for a long time now and I hear most of the old Castlemilk has been torn down so it's amazing to see these photos. My mum and dad met as they both lived in Scarrel Dr, my dad will love these! Thanks!

McGarrigle became an informant because he made a deal with police to get the Heroin charge dropped and in his own defence when asked about why he didnt attend ANY court for the Heroin he said in his muffled voice that he won it on a technicality. He did so without attending the High court and with out appearing on petition and he never received any indictment McGarrigle was online with the resident at flat 15 and McGarrigle and his brother and mates tried their best to look BIG as they call it and an argument broke out.The person of flat 15 told him he was a GRASS.& ELABORATED ON IT...Since then the person in flat 15 below has had his computer hacked and used on a daily basis and Mcgarrigle was seen and is on camera coming into the block (which he has often denied) as little back as Friday night going into Saturday morning along with his neighbour and into Flat 19 and recorded by the tenant below AGAIN.The tenant below has seen McGarrigle stalking him all over the city and has good valuable film and photograph equipment showing McGarrigle and his cronies stalking him......The tenant in flat 15 has done a lot of prison time to McGarrigles NONE .....Joseph McGarrigle and Donna Drummond (both Informants) use equipment given to them by the police & the tenant in flat 15 has had the police at his door a total of 24 times in 2+1/2 years before such in his 8 years in his previous flat the police were at his door on No occasions??? McGarrigle tried to get the Digger magazine involved but it was proved by them that McGarrigle was FAKING it all & it fell on deaf ears.................McGarrigle has been proven a fake Gangster a Grass & a bully 'in younger years' by the tenant at flat 15 & the tenant has offered many times to 'Take a walk' and mcgarrigle has cowardly not accepted these terms.When the tenant at flat 15 walked on to a bus 'where McGarrigle was sitting' the then McGarrigle on the 1st occasion started sceaming that he had a sore back and was crying for his mother that morning On the 2nd Occasion he Phoned his mate on the bus and asked his Neighbour to wait at the bus stop as he was coming off.'the tenant at flat 15 hadnt noticed him at the time as he was in the middle while McGarrigle was sitting in the back seat....The 3rd time the tenant at flat 15 seen McGarrigle walking on the bus at the citizens theatre and he let him know that he was sitting there as he came on.To what McGarrigle phoned his neighbour Mary to come on the bus (to which he did) McGarrigle is a police informer and has been doing such for the police to set up tenant 15 ,25 Dougrie place because the occupant put on his KZbin account the strange death of GERRY WRAY. McGarrigle informed the authorities that this was on KZbin and since the tenant at flat 15 has had his home broken into,people coming in his house when he was out & numerous police visits ALL for McGarrigle and fellow informants in Castlemik to do his best to try and fit this Great wee Guy up F.A.C.T............

I was born in Birgidale Road when there was a working farm across the road back in the early 60s. I remember staring out over the veranda. Recognised Arnprior Street too! Good to see the renovation. The Castlemilk people were always the salt of the earth so the renewal was well deserved.

Amazing video.Went to Mitchelhill. Stayed in the Square at the top of Castlemilk Drive(born in the hoose, STILL THERE!)until I was 10 then shipped out to Irvine. Never the same. Still got family in Ardencraig. Went back a few years ago. Lokks brill. Really good vibe about the place as well. Miss it still.

Hi Andy,I was back in Castlemilk for the first time in 17yrs last may,and the changes shocked me.But i'm glad they are for the best,Machrie was a complete shock to me.Seeing that all the old Tenements were gone and you could look straight down onto castlemilk drive and Croftfoot.I must have taken at least 100 pics around my auld close.

My mum grew up in Castlemilk on Dougrie Drive but moved to Southampton when she was in her 20's and had me and my sisters. My grandad still lives there on Ardencraig Road... I'm going to be living there for a while next month :)

I was from 79 Dougrie Rd. (opp. Castleton Primary) The close isn't there now. They knocked a few closes down to build houses in our back courts. That was an adventure playground. One day it was a scene from a cowboy picture the next it was world war 2. The grass was long and was good for sniping on Germans. :-) I also remember getting an annual (Beano or Dandy) sitting on it on a roller skate and flying down Birgidale and roon the bend at the bottom. Before skateboards were invented.

Castlemilk was the best place in Glasgow to live in as it had nothing in it so we went about with nothing.Then it was cool to swap stories but the Mcgarrigle brothers entered the place from a Tardis.They work with police and they were in room 10 last-nite as they thought i was out.But i was in all the time and i had my Alexa on.They even get into the security room in the Library with a sim-card that they stole from mines and they put their shit on it. Safe in numbers with PC A ?At 1st he said that i was losing it but as i caught him with other people with me i have realised how deeply a police informant he is and a liar too (which he aint good at)...VERY!
