Absolutely loved playing my Genesis and also my Super Nintendo back in the 90’s and I still have both. Castlevania IV is one of the best games of the 16-but era and so is Castlevania Bloodlines and I’d have to give Bloodlines extra credit for having two characters to choose between that’s so special and adds to replay value too. Two incredible games I feel are must play’s. Kudos Konami

The visuals and audio are patently superior on SNES. And both of those also add to a much more atmospheric and cinematic experience there too. Maybe you should go watch proper playthroughs of each in their own video at full resolution and with clear audio for each, etc, as I think then it's even more clear how much better the SNES game is in terms of visuals and audio. But, hey, you are entitled to your opinion.

São jogos diferentes e histórias diferentes, Super Castlevania IV retratata a época do renascimento século XV com a última aventura de Simon Belmont para derrotar Dracula, o Mega Drive já é retratada no início do século XX na época da primeira guerra mundial com os protagonistas John Morris membro da clã Belmont e Eric Lecard que vão para Europa no encalço de derrotar Elizabeth Bartley que é uma condessa e suposta sobrinha do Conde Dracula que pretende ressuscita-lo recolhendo almas para o seu plano perverso, ambos os jogos muito bons por tanto não tem essa de versão A ser melhor que B o importante é as histórias que cada jogo retrata.👍

quase um empate técnico + o Mega tem vantagem em duas coisas : Jogabilidade, Q é a mais rápida de todos os Castlevania da geração 16 bits. Fator replay Afinal do snes é só um personagem Já do genesis são 2.

That's debatable. Clock speed means nothing in the tech world if the I.P.C. is low. The SNES may have only been a 16-Bit CPU clocked @ 3.58 MHz but it was still 460,000 instructions per second faster than the 32-Bit MC68000 clocked @ 7.67 MHz. Game play was faster in some games on the Genesis/Mega Drive because the Genesis/Mega Drive didn't have as many parallax scrolling backgrounds or colors as the SNES had. More parallax scrolling backgrounds and more colors means more processing which is why you would see slow down in some SNES games.

The atmosphere, the drama, the feeling of isolation ... of the SNES version is unparalleled, and I'm not even taking about the visual and sound superiority of the SNES version yet. SEGA version doesn't even come close. The SEGA version looks like a kiddy version, while Super Castlevania IV is a real horror story.

There's not enough gameplay footage of the various levels and stuff to do a proper comparison imo, but you can see the SNES has more sophisticated visuals with greater use of colours, parallax, transparency and so on, and it also has better music too because of that orchestrated sound that really suits Castlevania and which the SNES simply does better, alongside the less grating sound fx. And even the slowdown has been greatly improved in recent times with the FastRoom patch too. The Genesis version has more put into the presentation at the start though, which is nice. Overall, I give the win to the SNES here based both on what was shown and what I've played of each.

@@Atariatari-ky9te I just find Bloodlines too ugly and the sound too grating. The gameplay is fine, but it's just a bit generic and feels like a step back compared to IV imo. Because of that, IV gets the win for me. And, because of the visuals and audio issues with Bloodlines as I see it, I'd put Rondo above it too. The visuals and audio are like 60% of the overall game experience, and they are very important for me personally at least, which is why Bloodlines comes third there. It's also why X comes fourth, as I just do not like the visual style there at all.

@@inceptional For me soundtrack wise. 1 Rondo Of Blood , 2 Bloodlines, 3 Super Castlevania IV. IMO Bloodlines has an awesome soundtrack but yeah you cant beat CD quality sound of Rhondo but I love Bloodlines soundtrack too but its only so far chip music can go. Super Castlevania IV music is OK but seems a little boring to me compared to Rondo and Bloodlines. Now as far as graphics and effects I like Bloodlines the best and the Mega Drive IMO has the best RGB picture out of the 3 with the Super Famicom having the worst RGB picture even if you have a 1 chip SNES/Super Famicom it still looks worst to me compared to the Mega Drive's RGB picture. I own all three games.

@@Atariatari-ky9te I can't take you serious at all now that you just brought up RGB picture quality and 1 chip systems and so on when we're talking about how these games compare to each other. The standard Genesis doesn't even output normal S-Video or RGB without random modern-day third party cables and/or physically modding the actual system and such. It can't even output stereo to the TV without unofficial cables similarly, and possibly even having to go through the headphone jack at that or even physically modding the system. The SNES does all this as standard, and did so back in the day with official cables as well. It also has modern RGB mods that make the picture on all models look even better too. But, the part I can't take you serious on is that this has literally nothing to do with the quality of the visuals (graphics and art) and audio (music and fx) of the actual games we were talking about, rather it's some tangent OCD technophile point. The game has noticeably better visuals and audio on SNES. It's very clear to anyone looking and listening objectively, and even more so in modern times where you can play these games output on HD screens in pixel perfect mode and so on. And some RGB mods, which are possible on both consoles in 2024, aren't going to change that. But, of course, you can still prefer Bloodlines' and/or Rondo's visuals and audio. I have all four games.

Both games are fantastic in their own right, and both are readily available to play on the Castlevania Collection. Of the two, Super Castlevania IV is the better game. It isn't even a contest as to which one. Again, this isn't saying that Bloodlines is a bad game, far from it, but Castlevania IV felt like a proper evolution of the franchise. The eight direction whip, the fantastic level design, beautiful graphics and atmospheric soundtrack come together for an experience that is downright memorable. Bloodlines felt more like a distant relative to the NES games, it is a fine game for sure, plays very well, has an excellent soundtrack and some very impressive graphical effects in its level design, plus the fact that it had two playable characters that felt different from each other was cool. It felt like a step down from Castlevania IV but again, it is still a fantastic game. You can't go wrong with either of these two though, they're fine examples of two completely different takes on an iconic franchise.

Here's something not a lot of people pay attention to when they stand on the side of Bloodlines and claim its superiority over IV: Bloodlines came out two and half years after IV and on a platform that had been released two years earlier too. So Konami not only had much more time to get used to the Genesis when they were making the game for it, they also had all the benefit of hindsight and lessons learned from IV when creating Bloodlines. Just imagine what could have been if IV had come out two and half years later than Bloodlines and Konami had even more time to learn how to best take advantage of the SNES' unique capabilities, as well as simple stuff like using FastROM rather than SlowROM. Regardless, I still think IV is a better game than Bloodlines in most of the meaningful ways even without that extra benefit, which I think says a lot.

Well Dracula X for the SNES came out last and is worst than Bloodlines, Rondo of Blood and Super Castlevania IV. IV is the better game overall imo, with noticeably prettier graphics, richer and better audio (especially the sound fx) and just more satisfying controls and engaging gameplay. And it very clearly could have been even better still; the recent FastROM patch that removes any slowdown has shown that alone. Nothing remotely "fanboy for Nintendo" about those statements. And you're clearly very confused about this whole "video after video" thing. Much like many other people online, I watch various gaming videos on various gaming channels regularly, and I comment on them regularly too. There's nothing remotely "video after video" about that any more so than anyone else who's a regular viewer of whatever channel and is sharing their comments similarly. This is literally the entire point of these KZbin videos and their comment sections. But, because it's actually you who's probably a biased Genesis fanboy or whatever and doesn't like what I have to say as it doesn't fit your own opinion, it's you who's created your own little narrative there.

Paleta de cores é importante, porém dá pra ver que foi muito mal usada do Cast 4. No genesis a KONAMI fez mais com muito menos recursos, o resultado ficou excelente
