It's incredible and all the speedrun, but I have a question: how did you have the ability to double jump if you haven't encountered Malfas, a boss in the game that gives you the double jump?

Das Die Der Erik you can’t skip a boss and still get the soul , I’m not 100% sure on this but I’ve played this game a lot , I’m pretty sure the only way to get the ability to double jump is by obtaining the soul which obviously is by killing malphas

If the first Ability Soul you get isn't Balore's, then the game gives you whatever one you got and Malphas' Soul, for some reason. I dunno why it works that way, but I believe they explained it one time when DoS was being run at GDQ.

How exactly do you do that axe seal zip at the beginning to get to the Demon Guest House early? I 'm trying to do it, but I keep ending up in the right wall of the room to the left, and by that point, I'm softlocked.

So ive been tryinf to do the glitch he does at the beginning ( 2:35 is the time)where he uses the ax special move then pauses dpes the practicw spell which teleports him to a different location except everytime i do it i end up in a out of bounds area and cant move (on the map im showb aa going up all the way then back to the bottom then repeating) what am i doing wrong? Im doing 2 backward dashes the ax spexial move then pausing in the middle clicking on magic spell 1 saying no to practice then going back and even pressing start again ans using larga. Mana refill but it never works.... Advice?

Looks like I'm a little late to party. I'm looking for a way to show my ds screen on the TV while I play, as to have others spectate on a TV screen not the ds screen. Is this even a thing, or an I looking for something that doesn't exist? I'm curious how runners like yourself pull off footage like this. It's my understanding that what I'm looking for requires altering the console itself. But idk. Hoping you or someone who sees this may be able to help out. Cheers in advance!

Most likely either buyibg a modded DS or less likely using an emulator ( but since something might be diff or the glitcbes may not work idk about that one) but yeah nintendo is pretty tight on not lettinf the ds be compatible with computers or tv so modding it i belive is the only way to stream a actual ds game from the ds

The rocket launcher was the whole reason for the boss rush. Also probably getting a couple more levels.

The RPG is the reward for clearing the Boss Rush in under... I believe it's under four minutes? I'm not really certain. However, it's the best reward from the Boss Rush, and fortunately for everyone who speedruns DoS, the Boss Rush can be done on any file, as long as the mode is unlocked.

HOW IS SEAL 1 WORKING AGAINST EVERYTHING!?

I remember that you had to get the other seals because the boss doors where locked until you did. So maybe if you get in any other way the game just asks you to draw your most recent seal then just checks if you completed it. I don't know tough that's just my hypothesis. Also he didn't really use any seals because the boss rush completes them automatically and he only actually beat the flying armor at the start.

You can use the Cutall's special attack to move Soma offscreen for a second, then if you pause the game and use the Magic Seal demonstration, it'll cancel the special attack with Soma still offscreen, which puts Soma into the boss room without the seal that you'd normally need to enter.

I hate glitch exploit in speedrunning with a burning passion. The moment I saw this speedrun only took 18 minutes in the video title, I knew it involved the usage of some BS glitches.

Why ? He didn't use any cheats. Glitches are allowed cause they're part of the game and everyone can use them. As for the rare ring,it's an item you get by inserting AoS in the GBA slot. For the double jump,if you didn't kill Balefore and got past Malphas,the game consider you killed Malphas and give the soul.
