richter came out of left field for me. he's always been my favorite belmont since i played SOTN (simon mightve had better control of his whip, but richter is MUCH more athletic than his ancestor ever was.) never did i expect him to be in smash. i thought simon was going solo, as he was the most iconic, and richter only appeared in like, two games on a nintendo console, one of which was a bastard port of a classic, the other was a glorified cameo.... never did i think sakurai decide to bring in richter belmont (keep in mind, most of the roster is picked out before the initial announcement) and i was SO happy to see the guy again. second only to my reaction at seeing k. rool finally getting his due. but i KNEW k. rool was coming deep down. i didnt expect to see my favorite belmont again, the one thing that can make richter better is if he got an alt based around his artwork for sotn, (and likewise, simon getting an alt based on his chronicles appearence, his design now is far too generic.) the fact that simon and richter are getting the best of BOTH their movesets... this pleases me.

one thing to make this better is if simon and richter get alts based around their more modern designs by sotn artist ayane kojima for chronicles and sotn respectively. despite richter rocking a sinister-looking look in sotn, his sprite is still recycled from sotn. but if they dont, it's fine. chronicles simon is just the right amount of bishonen and masculine. the one downside to his getup is the boots. but i love the wilder look.

You know how Spiderman didn't need to raceswap Mary Jane but instead of being a model she's a journalist? Or how Superman live action show puts a spin on an obscure character John Henrry Irons aka Steel whose fucking black and uses GOOD writing to reinvigorate the character and make them engaging. Literally the dumbest shit I've heard. It was needlessly and unnecessary. It was just a diversity checklist change. Guaranteed alot of damn video game characters from the late 80s early 90s barely has personalities because of the limitations of the damn technology and the infancy of video games. I think the only way you could prove how lame Woke Washing is "Due to unbelievable characters" is to just make a reboot of Fresh Prince of Bel Air tv series, or Blade 1998 movie reboot with an all white cast. Basically they use the names and images of characters while the story is the showrunners personal fanfiction. Heck, the mane character designer admitted to race swaping characters to take the IP form "the white man". After which his Twitter got nuked and he has not said anything ever since. If you want to hear what story elements where changed then ask, as i don't want to accidentally spoil the games plot for you.
