You're orchestral works are some of my favorites from you. It's one of the most challenging sides of FM synth to make it actually sound the instrumentation sound bearable in this genre of music.

These instruments very much so remind me of the Sega Gen/MD version of Gauntlet tbh. I imagine since the choir effect is on the third channel that it's an instrument that's in the number 4 algorythm where OP's 1+2 are "separate" from OP's 3+4, MUL 0 on the first in the pair and 1 on the other, TL roughly around 40 or lower on the first OP of the pair, then one of those pairs would then be delayed to simulate reverb, as well as detuned by, I guess roughly 0.2 of a note to simulate multiple voices in combination with vibrato. Could just be be talking out my rear though but that's how I'd do it in the case of Deflemask or when using VOPM in FL Studio. Also hi, Gecko/Savage, glad to see you still ticking.

This is one of the last arrangements of an environmental theme from Lament of Innocence that I expected to hear from this channel, and it's very welcome. Good musical sensibilities with the ritardandi. Yamane's less percussive pieces for this game stand among her very best work.

Orchestral covers like these might just be the absolute best of your work. The pop and rock infused stuff is awesome enough already, but there's something special about creating such a grand and rich sound on a chip with a distinctly artificial profile. Orchestral pieces were an area where the Genesis was definitely outclassed by the SNES back in the day, but this cover on the other hand is a serious contender.

Well, in itself it is not that RPGs have been something common on Genesis and if there was something for orchestra it is in niche games like Devilish, Master of Monsters and even the port of Gauntlet by M2, works by Hitoshi Sakimoto but none of them are RPGs and Beyond Oasis/Story of Thor by Yuzo Koshiro sounds good, in other games like Phantasy Star IV the orchestra was not wanted.
