Personally I think the First Castlevania Netflix series with Trevor in it still has the best animation and above all it has the best coreography on its fighting scenes out of all animation shows I ever watched. Nocturne action is a bit more Anime like with the main character can do magic now and move like he is a dragonball fighter, its coreography is not on the level of Trevor Castlevania where it really feels that they are a skillfull human who fights against all odds.

First season was really not good in my opinion and the best part was alucards return at the very end. Bland characters some of whom including Richter are just copies of previous personalities like Trevor.

It does make me sad to think Alucard had to watch Sypha and Trevor grow old and die. The only comfort there is is to think that maybe they shared a lot of happy moments together. The memories are the only things anyone ever takes, and I hope Alucard has many good memories to help him overcome the sadness of every goodbye. A 20-episode season is impossible and 8-10 episode per season is fine as long as there is a proper focus on the characters and the plot is on the right pacing Richter should have more development. Take advantage of Alucard as the selling point of this season. Anette has a considerable arc last season so she can take a backseat for a bit. More backstory for the villains. If they gonna add subplots better to make it at least have some relevance to the overarching story or to the development of characters Nocturne so far is alright, not as good as the previous one but even the og castlevania has rough edges on its first and third season. They have higher expectations too with how successful this series is.

Even here the small glimpse of her fighting shows development (her making a shield and mace) but yea I think she may not need heavy depth. With Alucard, Richter and Maria being at the forefront.

season 1 definitely had some pacing issues but I am biased since I didn't watch the first series as it came out i've always had it with the full context of all 4 seasons, I'm sure if i did i'd probably notice more issues, tho even then i think s1 of nocturne was not perfect by any stretch but the animation is so amazing and I have high hopes for where they go with it.

Maria's mother becoming a vampire-mage while also being a Belnades, and being transformed by Bathory, also kinda feels like a second attempt at the Carrie Fernandez storyline in Castlevania 64/Legacy of Darkness ("Fernandez" was the correct translation of Belnades, I think). There are some similar plot threads in that one, with Carrie's character-specific bosses being Actrise (an adapted historical serial killer similar to the historical Elizabeth Bathory) and a vampire-turned Fernandez/Belnades ancestor. Her ending is also just her visiting her deceased mother's grave, and she was very obviously conceptualized as a second attempt at the Maria character archetype (just without as much comic-relief little-girl-speak).

pretty complicated to do an aria of sorrow adaptation with so much of the lore changed honestly I loved some creative liberties in these adaptations but in effect some stories in the games wont work whats more plausible is a lament of innocence storyline with a few tweaks

Other than that from what this trailer shows it is looking like Season 2 is going to have more of what Castlevania is actually about than Season 1 did.
