@@rainbowpanda5046 I've always felt that Lanie was never used properly as a main character. The best example is when Montgomery died, and they vowed to keep his secret, Lanie was nowhere to be seen. And Kate called them the immediate family. So, what was Lanie not considered family? Also the way they rotate from Lanie to Perlmolder was another example of how Lanie wasn't as vital as other shows have M.E.s.

I just realized: it's similar to the beginning of season four when she comes back from hiding away. She comes in, all sneakily, and they all stand and clap and she smiles. Castle doing what he did to the serial killer. It really shows how important Kate is to him. The only other person that he ever lost his cool over is Alexis. When she was kidnapped and he threatened that guy. We all know that Alexis is the most important thing in his life. I'm not saying that Kate or his mom isn't important to him. It's just as a father Alexis will always be the most important thing to him. So him doing the same thing he did when Alexis was kidnapped that he did when Kate was missing. It shows that he loves Beckett as much as Alexis. He just loves them in a different way obviously
