Ever heard of the banana republics, Panama canal, Japanese internment camps, or South American governments? Then there are local governments that worked with the KKK, and how Chicago literally got it's nickname from government corruption lol Then there were all the lobbying by logging companies, steel companies, and fossil fuel companies. It was definitely as corrupt, at least by industrialization time.

@Soitisisit
@Soitisisit 5 жыл бұрын
@@BigUriel On grounds that it was smaller, more local, and more vulnerable to violent uprising, I'd say yes. The internet has actually empowered government corruption through propaganda and misinformation. As much as we want to see the internet as a mental revolution - and to be fair, it is - it's not like human nature has fundamentally changed. A sucker's born every minute and they'll believe what they want. For every enlightened libertarian minarchist, we've got ten anti-vaxxers now. Every idiot has a voice and it shows in our society. The power-hungry can now operate on a global scale and it really took the advent of mass media for such a thing as "mainstream media" to exist. In the days of just the press, newspapers would disagree all the time even on basic facts. Even small towns tended to have at least two newspapers of differing viewpoints. Now you have to intentionally seek out differing viewpoints to find them. So, yeah. I would say that I personally think government is more corrupt and that corruption is more enabled than ever.

Hans, TheHydraulicPress is a youtube channel that at that time was just beginning and gathering huge traction (millions of views). This is a "personal" joke that in his free time the only thing he thinks about is his "evil plans" about destroying that channel. A couple of videos ago it had a similar message written somewhere.

Surprised? Back in my day the life expectation of an average human being was 3.751.652 years, and that was only possible because we had to live longer to repopulate the earth after all the grandpas managed to destroy the world when they exausted the planet resources by working 36 hours a day to provide for us. Yeah, the days back in my day lasted 35 hours with no night cicle and was always 212 °F , no houses to sleep in because the planet back in my day was a huge rock desert, no food to eat because the inhospitable planet didn't allow anything to grow, no air either, we didn't breath back in my day, when a baby was born the only air he got was when he was in the mom's belly, so when he came out he had to hold his breath for the rest of his life to not die from sufocation. Surprise for us was when managed to comunicate with our mouths and not by telepathy like we used to back in my day, you don't know what a surprise is, you kids have everything now, y'all soft and weak
