Use the building process for content!!! So many people do this and I love watching videos like that. That way we can help build your home. And you can get sponsorship geared towards the build so that would also help out. There is a whole side of KZbin that does that. Thumbs up so she sees this please.

So true!! Also, look into Barn builds or Barndominum or something like that. I know you said you already have your design picked BUT I really think this might be something that works for y'all. It can be 2 floors if you want and basically the roof support is only on the outside walls so the floor plan inside can be ANYTHING you want and is also supposed to be so much cheaper. I dunno maybe you would hate it but won't hurt to check it out!

We built our own home in 2020-2021 and officially moved in this past December. The one thing I would say is the longer you wait the more expensive it is going to get. As we kept building things got more expensive and took longer to get in which was a domino affect because your waiting on one thing and the price goes up on another thing while your waiting. We did end up spending more than we anticipated but when we got our house appraised we had almost double the equity than what we put into building. It’s a hard decision and in my opinion was a stressful all consuming process but I just kept my eyes on the fact that this is my forever home and it’s just a temporary stress and to just be rooted in peace and patience. You and your family will make the right call for what is best for you all. I wish you all the best and love

"I am a ding dong trying to get my life together." Girl, when I tell you I felt that in my SOUL! 😂 We are a family of 5 who are just trying to make it but by the grace of God I got myself a little pizza delivery job at night when my hard working man is home and we are doing what we can to make it work. Hope to one day get to the place in our lives where we can make home building plans but until then we are making it work in a 3 bedroom townhome, a 2014 Mazda (my SUV which I am so thankful for), and my husband's old work truck that is a 1990 Dodge Dakota. We support dreams over here and wish nothing but the best for you and your family!!! ❤❤❤

It's hard with the cost of living going up, up, up. Gas prices are insane, food is insane, ECT. I can barely afford basic hygiene needs. I'm on SSI and can't work. I get 800 dollars a month. I always tell people that I can't afford to dream because I don't see how someone like me living on 800 a month will ever get there. Poverty is extremely difficult. It keeps you down. You sound so strong and so determined. With your mind set, I can guarantee that big things will happen for you. You're lucky that you can work. People who can't, well I don't know what to say about that anymore except that I'm screwed. I feel like I'm being punished for my mental illness. I wish I was normal

We were talking in one of my psych classes about the difference between urgent tasks and important tasks and how what feels urgent (e.g. building your dream home) isn't always the most important thing that needs to be done at the time (e.g. feeding your family). I commend you for making the sacrifices you need to during these turbulent times. I have no doubt you will love your dream home when it's done! Sending prayers from California. 💕

Love that you are adding bees to your new home! We have 3 hives at our cabin in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They are so great for our environment. 2/3’s of all the food we eat is due to pollination. I have planted a lot of wild flowers for them, plus we are next to the forest service with flowers too! Please start sowing wild flower seeds now. Don’t wait for your home to be built. Also join a local bee club. Not only will you gain lots of information, but you will have lots more friends ❤️🌻🍎🍓🌽🫑

BUT, I love MOST what you said at the end about getting outside, bare feet on the ground, drinking water-just so important and really works to bring you peace and comfort and maybe alittle perspective💚🙏 We can all do some version of this! Huge difference between want & need. One thing people don’t think about is the shortage of skilled laborers. We spent our lives pushing our children to go to college but forgot about carpenter’s, plumbers, bricklayers, electricians etc. My. Mr is a master electrician and set to retire but he’s not seeing a lot of skilled replacements coming in to replace him.

For Christina more than any other youtuber I've ever watched (and I've been watching a lot of KZbin since I was like 14 in 2008) I get so happy every time I see her cross a milestone or achieve something for her and her family. I've been a subscriber since she was at like 18k subscribers and I know it's parasocial but seeing her acheive all of this after everything she has been through feels like watching a family member or best friend make their dreams come true. I am so happy for you Christina, you deserve the world. You're the kind of genuine person that I KNOW no amount of money or success will ever change you, you will always stay humble and YOU. I can't wait to see you continue to reach more people and make all of your dreams become reality; you REALLY deserve every bit of it.

I only found you around a year ago & I always come back to your YT whenever I get free time ( busy mama of two kids, 2 yo boy & 7yo girl).. In that year alone of subscribing to you, you have grown SO much! It really is refreshing to see people who are doing well in this industry stay true to who they are & not get big headed over it & then doing 30 steps instead of 1 foot in front of the other.. sometimes you have to walk before you can run which is what you've done & I am SO proud of you! I live in a small seaside town in North Wales, UK & the cost of living is just ridiculously expensive! I've watched all of your prison storytimes & I love that you've owned your mistakes & spoken about it openly & honestly in a way that people can learn from it & to never give up their dreams, no matter how hard your/our past is/was.. I went through abuse in my teen years, bullied at school & made a bunch of mistakes during the time I was hurting & suffering from the trauma.. I'm open & honest about my struggles & mistakes & although I know some people think 'attention seeker' but people like yourself, who's also been open, gives me hope that it's OK for me to be so open about my own trials & tribulations. Im only open about them just in the hope that I help others not feel ashamed of what they've been through & what they've done.. so for that, THANK YOU for just being you! 💜💙

Christina, I live in an Open Floorplan house. I want to tell you what I learned. 1. Sound Travels like the inside of a Bose Radio. Because of the sound traveling it is hard to separate in the home. You can hear Music playing from the bedrooms. You can hear the TV everywhere in the house, etc. If I was building an open floorplan home I would: 1. Build a Family Room Wing ( Where the TV and cozy fireplace is ) that is as far away from the bedrooms that can be sealed off with a Solid Wood door.

Today I am more than 4 years sober and we just began building our dream home this last year as well. We are of course dealing with the exact same frustrations and worries that Christina talks about in this video but still very thankful to be able to do it. Speak into existence and manifest it everyday. It is definitely possible somehow someway when it’s your time. I’m sure that Christina would agree that she isn’t any different from any of the rest of us and she at one point probAbly didn’t think she would ever be able to build her dream home either but here she is and she absolutely had an impact on me knowing that I was also capable of it as well. Its a bid step and adjustment moving into the sticks. The first thing to beware of is if land is for sale these days there is usually a problem wrong with it😔. Make for sure your property doesn't flood and hold water after it rains!!! Make for sure whats below the dirt its not soils rock😕! You will have to pay A LOT MORE to install a septic tank if it is😒. Keep in mind you no longer have stores just up the road if you need parts for your home and car or groceries. When you move into the country usually the land is larger than what you are used to maintaining yourselves. So you may have to hire help to maintain it. You notice this once your riding that mower and your butt starts to hurt😂. You have to deal with septic tanks. Theres more grass to mow and maintain, trees to cut down and haul off, Trees need trimmed and maintained, fences and gates to put up. Storage sheds to build, water and sewage lines to dig, post holes to dig. Your land will be raked right up there with your family to take care of.

I relate to this so much!! We wanted to move and could finally afford to right as covid started. So we applied for and got the loan and then boom, prices skyrocketed. So we decided to compromise a little on price but then boom, all the houses were gone or being bought in cash by big companies. We are very blessed to have a home with a good mortgage so we are staying here for now but we can't even get this one fixed up because all the contractors are back logged or can't get materials. It's so frustrating and disheartening at times. I'm planting a garden to try to relieve some stress.

You are truly blessed. Even in 2 years you’ve came so far. You look amazing, the kids seem great, you seem happy. I just relate to you so much. I just wish you all the happiness in the world. You’ve done it babe! The cycle has been broken and now your reaping those blessings. That house will come soon enough and you’ll probably appreciate it even more because of the rain. Love you sis!

I no longer dream of working in the garden or collecting eggs from my chickens or chillin on the porch in the morning with my coffee in my nightclothes. But I’m soooo excited for you! I hope to enjoy life again. However I enjoy listening to you. 😁 You’re the type of person that I feel like I’ve known my whole life and you crack me up! Much love girl!

You and Jeremy are thinking the right way. Good job putting the house on hold. My in-laws moved in with me without notice New Years Eve and we had to buy a new house to accommodate them. The house we bought was $100,000 two years ago. We just paid $365,000 for the same darn house. I also remodeled the kitchen in my old house and it took three months to get the countertops delivered! You are doing right Christina. Good for you.

When you started talking about prices, I knew exactly what you were going to say because we are in process of just re-doing the floor in our condo down in South Carolina... and on top of having to trust other people because we can't be there and it's 11 hours away, my husband told me some of the boards that would normally cost $20 are now over $60!! Its unreal. Anyhow, take your time because it will be worth it to have exactly what you want. It's hard to have patience.. believe me, I get it lol, but you will be so glad you were patient and did what you really want and got what you really want, and didn't settle just to get it done quickly! Can't wait to one day see your "dream home house tour!!"

Thank you for being so honest and inspirational Christina!!! I truly hope you and your family get your forever home soon, patience is hard. One tip that a family member of mine has is that when they built their home they used wood from the land they cleared and had the boards processed themselves to use as trim and for their kitchen cabinets to cut costs. They also used other local materials as well to add unique touches.

Christina, your dreams almost sound like what I’ve been dreaming of for years. My husband was listening in while I was watching and kept smiling at me due to the similarities of what I’ve been begging for, for so long lol. But it’s going to be a few years before we can afford to buy our dream property but in the meantime, we have started realizing that we don’t have to wait until we can buy more property to start gardening, being more self reliant and utilizing the 1 acre we have now. In the last 2 years, we have built a small greenhouse, built raised garden beds, learned how to can and preserve our food and just planted some fruit trees and bushes and also hopefully will soon be getting some chickens. I too, want my children to be able to walk outside and grab fresh fruit or veggies off the vine. You can do that too or whatever makes your heart happy.

I completely understand what your going through, i would suggest waiting a bit, till the bubble pops on the prices. My husband and I have land we want to build on, but prices and wait times are ridiculous. So we're waiting a while because eventually the prices have to come down for anyone to afford building. We're staying in our current home too, until we can build. Praying for you to help give you peace during the process and to help you make wise choices and help with the anxiety of this.

(There is light at the end of the tunnel) Hi Christina, just wanted to say that I’ve been following your other Channel and think you are such a lovely lady to watch, I like the fact you keep everything real. This is my first video I’m watching of yours on this channel and it really got my attention as I too am currently in the process of building my “forever home”. (No big mansion, just a humble 4 bedroom home to accommodate myself, my husband, my 12 year old son and our dog 🐩 ), It’s always been my dream to build our own home, especially after living in a couple of lovely houses, but there was always something missing or just not right about the house and no matter how many houses we went to view prior to deciding to build, there was always something that’s just not right! We finally found a lovely old house that’s on a decent piece of land (nothing like yours Christina, as I live in the UK and unfortunately large plots of land is not on our side), decided that we would demolish the existing house (as it would have cost far too much to restore, more than a new build!), so I knew my dreams were about to come true. We lived in the house for a year and a half while we were in the process of getting all architectural drawings done and getting the green light from our local council, we got the go ahead at the end of 2019, we moved out of our house and into a rented accommodation at the end of January 2020 and started demolishing the house in Feb/March 2020!! And then the pandemic hit!! That was the most exciting and saddening time of my life. Everything went on hold and it did for a very long time! I was sad for so many people who had suffered from the pandemic but slightly selfishly upset that my dreams had come to a complete stop. Uncertain times had us all scared, was my husband’s job safe?, will we be able to afford to continue?, how long will this take?, it was the unknown that was hard, never thought I’d see the light at the end of that dark tunnel, but I kept hopeful. Now the rented accommodation was only supposed to be for about 1 year so we budgeted for that (I am currently still living in it), and for everything else, ie building materials and workman labour costs. We were lucky enough to restart building works in the autumn of last year 2021,I still at that stage wasn’t getting excited about it as I had lost all hope. The price of everything just went through the roof but we were fortunate enough to have secured our prices for the foundation materials and some of the Steels too but timber prices are sky high and that’s something we didn’t budget for nor for the increase of pretty much everything else! But we know we have to make this work! Once the foundations went down and a few bricks went up in the early part of this year, I’ve started getting those excited feelings back, finally after nearly 2 and a half years we are finally getting there. I go and visit the site once a week and OMG 😆 it’s certainly coming along. Hopefully 🙏 we should be able to move in this autumn but it’s been a very emotional journey and I’m sure once we move it, it would of been well worth the wait. Good luck with your build and be sure that there is light at the end of the tunnel just keep hopeful and I can’t wait to follow your journey. Keep up your excellent work on KZbin. 😊
