When I read that averages are going to be distinct but the sum will be same, I used the magic square formula. I drew a sample square on the side. It helped me decipher that if a box has an average of 9, the average of other 2 boxes in that row/column can only be either 1 and 5 or 2 and 4. It helped me narrow down the pairs. That helped me solve the numbers much faster. Although, that didn't occur to me in the actual CAT exam, only ocurred to me now when I actually read the question, rather than just breezing through it. A very good question.

Given - Mean of the box are distinct integer So to get mean as integer number of 3 values it should be multiple of 3 if it's not then we'll get decimal number

Why in the 3rd set the increase in two consecutive years same as for A same as it it clearly written the no two consecutive years have same increase or decrease !!!

It says no firm raised the same amount of money in consecutive years that means like we can't have 2 2 or 3 3 or 4 4. It doesn't mean that increase shouldn't be the same.

How can score be 9 if it is mentioned that balls are between 1 and 9?

why not? consider 1,3,5 to be the balls. They add upto 9.

I had same doubt the problem here is usually cat paper specify this thing but here they have not also when you say between 1 and 9 it means from 2-8 but when you say between 1 to 9 it means 1 and 9 are included. However I think cat paper should have specified this thing also if you read further in an example they mentioned 1 rank and gave 8 points to it which added further confusion whether it 1 and 9 are included or not.

Because if we put 126 , then Only one condition satisfies, which is Minimum 1coin in sack, and as per the table 2 , there are two asterisk given hence it must satisfy the condition ii) or iii) or all three which can't be done with 126

18:05 score should be 2,3,4,5,6,7,8. 1 and 9 are not inclusive. Then how chaturs max score is 9 ?

Valid argument. But as per the question the total score on day 5=18, which atleast requires each score to be 6. And if that's the case than C's unique maximum score can't be 6 it has to be more than that
