hello sir, how does attempting 1-2 questions get one an 80-90 percentile, as you said at 5:06? last year, 80 percentile corresponded to 14 marks

Hi Anusha, 1-2 in each round means 5-10 questions in total, as there are 3 rounds. Generally 80th percentile is 10-12 marks in Quant (85th has been 14-15 marks), so even if you're on the lower side with 5 correct questions, it is still sufficient for cutoffs. All the best for CAT 2023!

Hey Sanket, this is Vignesh’s CAT 2022 Quant score, whereas he took CAT 2007 and got into IIM Lucknow. It’s a great Bschool btw, of course ABC would have been better but we both had a great experience there and Vignesh got into HSBC Global Banking as an AVP

If you’re curious, he got 99.75%ile in CAT 2007, but his Verbal percentile was 93.94%ile, and sectional cutoffs were 95.6 for IIMA and 94.5 for IIMC. Overall cutoffs then were considerably lower given the high sectional cutoffs. IIMB had already brought in acads and his college score was lower then needed. He had calls from LKI, converted them and chose IIML
