Cute little loader. It's my favorite type of machine to run . It's kinda like a oversized T 250 bobcat . 963 is more preferable for me as far as size.

This has to be the most gratifying project on the farm, it is like he is building you new land. I have about 20 acres I need to have done but it is way down the list for me at the moment. Looking good, keep it up and have a great new year.

Not as much fun as doing it yourself but its a quicker way to do it for sure ! Your going to have plenty of pasture when your done for your herd ! A good machine and a good operator can sure make a job go quicker than you can do it yourself . Looking good Mr. Nate Your Getting it done ! Bandit
@mrnate42807 жыл бұрын
Bandit farmer sure would be nice to have one
@banditfarmer19007 жыл бұрын
I seen one for sale today and thought about you, Pretty good looking older machine with a rebuilt engine and all cylinders repacked and good under carriage for $13 grand . But I think you got the right idea, Hire it done and take it as a tax right off for hired work done on the farm. Plus it frees you up for other projects you need to get done around the farm. I bought an old IH TD9 track loader years ago and used it on the farms and sold it 5 years later for what I had in it, That don't happen too often ! LOL Keep up the great work Mr. Nate, Your doing a hell of a job of clean up ! Bandit

The CAT 953D operator is pretty slick popping those trees out & piling them up. Looking forward to seeing the end result. I hope you & your family had a Merry Christmas & have a Happy New Year. Stay safe.

Hi thanks for another update, You are going to have loads more good land when you are done. Guys south east of here are doing that to make crap land " Grain land" biggest problem is it should be brush or pasture for cattle. They got way to many rocks to move and paying $1000 an acre borrowed money for the crap. My buddys friend remembers guys doing some of that land in the 70's. He said there aren't grain bins in that area for a reason, some guys fathers have short memories L.O.L. That is a nice dozer , I guess give it 30 years and move the decimal point a bit you'll be like me with some equipment "able to afford it" then. Happy new year to you and the family, Take care.

What a great job that operator seems to be doing for you in pretty short order I would say! If he can get a lot of the roots out then that is a real bonus which will reduce, if not stop, any damage to your machinery in the near future. Whilst the dry soil does not help you enlarge your pond it is really good that the machine is working on the surface and not mauling around in mud causing compaction and damage to your top soil. It is likely that your new seeds are likely to germinate and establish well assuming you get some rain. That number deer may of course be a problem grazing new seeds but with removing some of their cover will work in your favour in my opinion. However don't try and drive yourself too hard or you are likely to fall ill through exhaustion or have an accident. Get some rest chap because you look and sound totally knackered on this video. Happy New Year to you.
@mrnate42807 жыл бұрын
Dan Whiteford yeah he's definitely getting the roots out also the smaller stuff I'm going behind him and cleaning up with the stump bucket. I'll probably only work half day tomorrow and take the rest of the day off. Thanks for watching and thanks for your great comments as always

Are you back down there now? Waaaay too cold for me! Thats a nice rig he has. Nothing beats a Cat. I run a 988 Cat frontloader for a living. We have a couple of them at work that have over 35k hours on them. New they are about 1.3 million.
@HemiLyfestyle7 жыл бұрын
I'll take a volvo over a cat Any day! i run a loader
@ozarkhomesteader38797 жыл бұрын
Not me. We have 330 Volvos too (supposidly the 988 equivalent. I work in a steel mill hauling up to 65k coils. Volvos are great when new, but by the time ours have 7500 hrs on them, the center pins are slopped out and the trunion bearings are wore so bad the whole machine is loose as a goose. Those parts aren't even field replaceable like a CAT. Plus 15k and the engines are done. You get what you pay for in heavy equipment
@HemiLyfestyle7 жыл бұрын
Yeah we sold one off a old volvo to a buddy of mine. 2002 model he got it for 16k. But I'm new to heavy machinery. i just feel like volvo is more simple and more quality ride overall. I've driven a cat but I'm not used to it. To each there own i guess. But amazing video dude!
@ozarkhomesteader38797 жыл бұрын
The Volvo is without a doubt simpler and a much better ride as long as the boom suspension works. We really beat the snot out of them. They run 24/7 365. Im sure the Volvos last a long time on slow speed work like material piles and whatnot.
