A caring cat flipped stereotypes on their head by comforting a scared dog during a thunderstorm. 11-year-old April, a chow-golden retriever mix, has never enjoyed the sound of storms as they rumble in the skies above her Houston, Texas, home. April can often be found curled up and scared, owner Luis said - but fortunately for the pooch, Luis' cat, Nala, a six-year-old tabby, is often there to offer a comforting paw. On March 15, as a thunderstorm raged outside, Luis came across April curled up in a ball, with Nala sitting close by, licking the canine's head to sooth her. According to Luis, Nala had comforted April this way through many thunderstorms, but this was the first time he could capture such a loving interaction on video.

Cats make everything feel better. Just by looking at dogs and cats gives humans and other creatures some relief and happiness. Imagine waking up early, you just remembered you left your slippers outside your house, you open the door and see a tiny stray kitten sleeping inside them and they fit perfectly well. This happened to my grandma today, she couldn't disturb the kitty.

You want heroic? The fact that I am still alive with heinous, life threatening diseases is no small feat. And in this condition I've had to save myself. Along with that I've saved the lives of others. I dedicated my life to healthcare. I was there for others, while no one was there for me, including and especially family members. There is so much evil in this world that it's incredibly easy to become overwhelmed. I have medical challenges that you could never even fathom. People who have left me injured and close to death. Yet I persevered - - - and helped others along the way. I'm not asking for recognition or a medal. I just wish that people would stop their obsessing over their phones and cease attacking others, especially those whose history they are completely unaware of.
