The boom pushes straight back against the pivots. New Holland has bump stops behind the front of the boom relieving pressure off the pivots and distributing the load more evenly around the frame.

What is the average hourly operating cost of the new D Series over the first 1,000 hours of use? That figure compared to the other major Skid-steer manufacturer’s tells me everything I need to know.

I bought a 257D. Rear and side visibility is deplorable. You can wipe your rear end with the backup camera. It can't reach very high or out very far. That said, the MTL rides like a dream. The power is decent. The controls are fast and responsive. The new decelerator option is nice, and the accessibility of the components is the best I've ever seen on any machine ever. These are easy to work on. I think Bobcat makes a better machine, but the overall support you get from Caterpillar is the best in the industry.

i really dont like trier 4 emissions. I understand clean air is very important for the earth but it rods engine power. and also increase fuel use age.

If you want to buy a bear bones skid steer that is not comfortable at all go buy a bob cat. But I will stick with my cat that is just as tough and it is comfortable.
