Damn good dozer operator keep him he actually runs the machine correctly and uses the d-pedal b4 changing directions good job sir that's how you run a dozer!!!!
@DieselandIron Жыл бұрын
Thank you! These sort of jobs were the best. It was a mile long stretch of highway that I had to grade out. Easy dozing all day long

Nice footage, like seeing gravel stone unloaded and spread with the wheel loader. How many tons per truck load were unloaded and spread? Keep up the good work
@DieselandIron3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Johnny! With the right operator in the seat this could easily be done with a wheel loader as well. I believe each one of these gravel trains brings in ~44 tons of stone (between the lead and the pup).

Man, dozer is by far my favorite machine to run, but I am most proficient on loader and hoe because it seems like that's what I am always needed to run. But you can bet your ass, I will pretty much fight anyone around me if some cat work comes up. You my friend, are a treat to watch. Every now and then I come across a dozer hand that I will just sit and watch every little thing he does and you are definately one of those guys. I want to learn as much as I can. Keep up the good work. You have a Tallent. I will now go rinse with some scope after blowing you for the last few minutes...

Hey Ryan! Sorry for getting back to you so late but I never got a notification that this comment came in. I really appreciate the feedback and the compliments! It is nice to get some compliments with all of the armchair operators out there passing out the critiques. That being said, don't cut yourself short. Having spent a couple years as the loader hand on a couple of jobs I will absolutely say that is one of the most important jobs on the site. Not everyone can handle the stress of that busy position. Hope all is going well and thanks again!

Now for a guy who has never run a dozer before. It looks really hard to push material. How do you know when your blade is almost out of material?
@DieselandIron6 жыл бұрын
A couple different ways. One of the biggest ways you can tell when working a lot of material is by feel. After running the machines for awhile you can tell when you have material on the blade just by how the machine responds. When you get to fine grading and you are only dealing with a small amount of material you are watching the back of the blade and you can see when you are no longer pushing material. As far as keeping your grade level, that's all in your ass and just takes a lot of seat time.

Hey man, we bought a d6n xl from an auction that used to be dans excavating that looks exactly like this that I’ve been running, I’m thinking it’s the same machine, I’m currently running the machine that was in this video
@DieselandIron5 жыл бұрын
Nice! That was a solid machine. I just wish it had a cab for the winter time!

Where was the grade checker ? Was he too busy driving around in the site truck smoking and drinking ?
@DieselandIron4 жыл бұрын
I didn't have a dedicated grade checker here. My job was to rough the stone in and a GPS dozer would follow in a few days to finish it off. I did have a grade checker at the other end of the job that would swing through every hour or two to spot check me but that was it.

Awesome operator!- our crews in Alaska would have your place stacked with material so fast aint no time to even have a drink of water. 13 trucks 12 hour day adds up on their 10 min round trip , my arm hurts just thinkin bout it ;)

I’m guessing by the trains hauling the stone this is in Michigan
