Lol my cat does that too. We think she has allergies, but the vet says it’s not severe enough to warrant medication. On bad allergen days we sometimes give her some over the counter medicine. She has this weird habit of drooling when she gets a pill though lol. Like someone turned on a faucet free flow drool. It’s really quite impressive and it gets everywhere.

The excessive drool is a reaction to the antihistamine. I’ve seen that also in my cat.

@@jjlady552 good to know, but I’m not sure that’s why my cat is drooling. I think that’s just her way of not being forced to consume something she doesn’t want. She starts frothing before we’ve actually gotten the pill in her mouth. I’m holding her and have the pill in front of her…and she starts foaming. We get it in her mouth and it slides out with the current of her drool still intact. She runs away. She sees that we’ve found her and she starts drooling again.

@@sarina76667 hi! cats usually do this if the pill taste bitter or they dislike the taste and they feel nauseous. Maybe you can try giving her a treat immediately afterwards or even better, you can try to hide the pill in a soft treat or put something like those creamy sachet on top and have her lick it with the pill :) I do this with my cat and the barely drools anymore

No… lmao just no that’s so untrue it hurts you can’t be in possession of a cat and think that right? You should only ever cut their nails if they are being a danger to the vet, they do not need their nails cut by the average person bc they fall off themselves and cutting them yourself can lead to bigger problems if you cut it to low which is why easier to do compared to a dog

@@lilcholo2097 Nails of feral cats get worn up outside real quick. They dig , they scratch trees, they walk a lot, they hunt, etc. Apartment animals don't have this kind of luxury. They just sit and eat all day and their nails are not worn down at all. They keep growing longer and longer and that can cause the nail to embed itself on the front of the toe. Plus, the nails can always get caught up in some fabric or carpet and rip from the root, causing pain bleeding and infection. Managing a cat's nails once a month is okay man. Amd it's not like she won't get smothered in love and treats after i am done with her pedicure😺💖
