I just adopted a cat two days ago and she’s already in heat. The longest she’s gone without meowing was two hours so that’s all the sleep I got. This is the only thing that’s made her stop. Ty

After 50 years of owning cats, I know that they can get addicted to mewing if you give them any positive attention. I've trained many cats not to utter a sound. Because when they do, the first warning is that I hiss at them. The second warning is a growl. The final warning is to be locked up in a bathroom for 1 hour. Finally, they get locked up for 24 hours. They soon learn to shut the hell up. Heat or no heat.

@@Tom-Travels whenever my cat is in heat my partner likes to throw her in her hidey hole underneath the bathroom sink, she'll immediately go to bed. I don't know how he trained her, but I don't think he did it on purpose. If we put her under the bathroom sink she stays there for HOURS But the only time she does that is when she's in heat and we're tired of her yowling.

I love it too. I fall in love with them more. I feel a strong connection in my heart when they do this and I kind of giggle when I see them steal a piece of meat run and hide under the bed and everyone's chasing it them it growls like its mine. There's a greedy kitten growl when they are in their food bowl and a growl when they aren't happy. There are different growls. The better the food tastes the deeper sounding growl you get. I love it. That's how you know they like their food.
