Balochi Academy, Quetta is the oldest registered literary and cultural body with a mandate for the promotion of Balochi language, art, and culture. In 1958, a large number of writers, poets, political and tribal leaders congregated at Mastung, the main purpose of which was to seek their financial, political, and moral support for Balochi Academy. The Academy was formally established in 1961. The research complex and Head office of the Academy was constructed in 1998.
