I mean, you mention the difficulty, but Cat Quest has, since the first update to Cat Quest 1, always had a way to kick you in the butt if you want to play it that way, using not only stronger enemies, but also ones with harder hitting attacks, or just taking away some of your combat buffs in levels or equipment. AND unlike a lot of others that do stuff like that, if you can beat the challenge, you actually get something cool for it. So not only is the power ceiling sky high in these games, but they still let you play them with an eye for challenging yourself, and that's good design right there, on top of every character deserving to be petted.

I feel you made it sound too simplistic the game has gear choices, stats, spells, postgame, challenging encounters, exploration, secrets, replay ability.. I'm not saying its not simple. In a way it is, but action rpg fans should enjoy it even if they don't want a simple game.

not sure why, but the cat quest games would always catch my eye when looking through the nintendo eshop when there were sales. cat quest 1 and 2 were on sale and just decided to grab them both and i'm happy i did. these games are nice in you want something fun and quick to jump on and while they're simple, they do have much to offer.......besides it's kitty cuteness, silly puns and references to popular media.

Dude I did the same thing yesterday I had the choice to get doom eternal for 17.99 or cat quest 1 and 2 for 6$ definitely worth it

PSA: The 10% off still goes until August 15th on Steam at least. And the purredecessors are discounted a lot as well - best way to get it is taking the trilogy bundle. With that you even get the bundle discount if you got the first games already. If not, they become such a bargain, it's almost a steal. Bought the furst two during the last summer sale and then noticed the 3rd being clawse to being released. Checked out the demo of that before playing the others even and got hooked immeowdiately, so I had to cat-ch the full version right away. BTW, I loved seeing that the progress I made in the demo was taken over to the full game, so you're not playing the furst hour or so twice.

i say if you like cats, arpgs, and don’t mind cat puns just buy it! my son and i played the 2nd game together and now we are both enjoying this one on ps5. highly recommend as a fun family co-op game!

CQ1 was incredible. CQ2 was too much of the same thing. Hopefully 3 will feel more fresh.
