For AP Chem students: water vapor molecules are always floating in the air. Due to random collisions, eventually the entire hydrosphere would be crystallized.

Excellent video! I think Cat's Cradle is Vonnegut's best work, and is criminally under-appreciated! Breakfast of Champions is my fav Vonnegut, but Cat's Cradle may be the best.

One thing I never understood about this -- the melting point for Ice IX is about 130°F right? So if you don't want everything freezing to death, just keep it hot, right?

Can you survive in those conditions? Can any plants or animals? That Is the lowest possible temperature that supports liquid water in this new reality.
