What she says about people being unwilling to believe vets over misinformation is so true. I can never understand why people will believe that all of a profession has it out for them. Do they not remember that most people become vets because they care about animals???

I don't think there's nearly enough vet med online. I'm so glad you two are here though! I run a kitten rescue and I just love to learn about health and behavior so I can be more valuable to our nonprofit and the adopters and the general public who are ready to give up on their cats.

I really enjoy your content and I hope it takes off for you. I would be interested in something on vaccines (why are 3 year vaccines the same as 1 year ones. Why does my 6 lb chihuahua get the same vaccine as a Great Dane? Do people really think their dog will get autism?) or acupuncture (seems like a waste of money to me) or even responsible dog training. Cold laser? How to decide on a course of treatment when the vet offers options. I like your interviews with other practitioners too.

I wish I lived in the UK. The lifesaving neurosurgical cure to help my cat with acromegaly cost 20k in the US and 7-8k in the UK. The medicated treatment option I preferred was 18k in the us for pasireotide and in the uk 3300. It’s unfair. If anyone needs a board to regulate vet costs and determine if it should be lowered it’s the US. If I lived in the UK my cat would have already had the surgery but I can’t afford it where we are and with her heart condition I can’t take her on a plane to go to a foreign country for the surgery. I feel if we could just bring down the cost of surgery and chemo/radiation more people would seek treatment rather than euthanasia.

About the financial aspect of this - owning a pet isn't cheap. If people can't afford to properly care for one, they shouldn't get it.
