As the caterpillar offroad minig trucks were able to get down a clay covered mining road as after a rain the road turned into a greasy mess. Fully laden what if the mining trucks couldn't get halfway up a slope when they spun-out. What if the mining company had to send in its D12 dozers to give the mining trucks a helping hand.

Short wheel base makes them have a very small turning circle, perfect for backing up to a wheeled loader, digger or shovel
@_Kirby20711 жыл бұрын
The downside would be with that much carried weight coupled with the on the road tires which do not have any sort of good grip at all on this slick mud (You can see the driver having to induce slides on his way down to force the front tries to dig harder to slow his slide downhill) the entire truck would start to backslide as soon as he slowed down too far, and the top speed required to maintain grip isn't achievable on that turn with slick tires.

@chaserdotcz12 жыл бұрын
@JimHowDigsDirt I'd guess the stress on the central frame might be involved as well. With longer wheelbase, covering the horizontal distance between front and rear axle would require a massive piece of steel (adding a lot of weight) to withstand the enormous stress, or it would literally break in half. Probably a lot easier to deal with if the wheelbase is shorter. Take a look at Liebherr truck's frame for example - it's almost V shaped, making it more resistant to bending forces.
@roadwarrior60711 жыл бұрын
the music is fine. im not finding it annoing. i think it fits the video just fine
@Adrian-Ionut12 жыл бұрын
traction maybe. look how the load is almost evenly distributed between front and back. i know some old dump trucks that distributed the load to the back wheels causing the truck to loose grip on front wheels and it was impossible to turn.
