Cata Classic Lv 85 DK Arena PvP Beta, trying Unholy, Blood and Frost DK

When playing frost you have to swap specs in the starting zone then swap back to frost to get your death rune passive working properly. You were effectively playing with 4 total runes as frost for those games

ye i know this by now. it was my first games as frost on the beta and i did not know how to fix this bug back then. crazy that its still like that on live right now...

Could you share your pvp specs (talent/items) for frost and blood DKs? Also, would be great to see some guides on rotation/strategy/burst!

Could also give Obliterate Glyph a try for the 2H Frost spec, as we are forced to take at least 2 points into the Obliterate talent anyway (to reach enough points). Most of the time in PvP Unholy runes are gonna be spent on Necro Strikes, Obliterate can remain a decent execute at times tho (with km proc through ams for example), so it might be worth to try, i probly gonna give it a shot with 2H. About the guide will see if there is time for it, takes more effort and classic usually has alot of different stuff, different meta, bugs/changes etc. and id hate to put out missinfo in a guide like many other guides do alot of the time :/ so gotta test a bit more And for the gear its literally just all PvP Gear, with Heroic Dungeon Weapons for the start and Arena Conquest Weapons later, nothing special in Cata. Mastery is prefered Offstat after Str and Caps for Frost and Haste for Unholy/Blood. Could use the epic Tol barad Trinket with Mastery for Frost pump too, but honestly DK is so vulnerable in Cata (except Blood ofc xd), Resil PvP trinkets with strong procs/on use are probly still the safest bet.

2h frost without obliterate (only need to put 1 point into it), been working well for me, spamming alot more howling blast...would like to see you give it a go

ye when i got an epic 2h weapon gonna give it a try, i also think 2h Frost is much more on par with dual wield compared to previous expac, with harder hitting necros and might of frozen wastes talent the only thing im rly gonna miss tho is hitting 100% with offhand with threat of thassarian as dual wield, meaning being able to dmg hunters in deterrence and rogues in evasion xD sht is so funny to me

What gear/gem would you recommend if going as bdk for arenas? Stam oriented or just same as UH gearing?

Basically allmost same as unholy yea. Vengeance doesn't work in pvp so you don't get any attack power from higher hp/stamina, unlike pve, so its not rly worth for arena, you still need dmg. Strength is the biggest stat for Unholy already, but for Blood it has even more value compared to Haste/Resil, as there should not be much struggle with survial and no big pets profiting from haste (just rune regen a bit). If you still find yourself struggling with surviving and getting hard focused somehow (in double blood dk maybe), mastery could be a decent option for more survival, but normally should not be the case. TL;DR: Keeping same gear as Unholy with Blood is fine, if you really wanna minmax for Blood replace haste/resil gem socket bonus slots with pure Strength and reforge/enchant (not gem) some mastery if you should be actually still struggling with surviving as Blood in your comp.

can you queue 2v2 arenas as double blood dk (or any combination of two tanks for that matter), it should be possible if blizzard has implemented classic cataclysm in accordance to how the queue rules worked back then.

There's a season on Cata where you can 2H Frost/Ret 2's, open with grip and 1shot people. On AT Cata my friend played FDK for the first time and went 37-0 as it (faced R1 Rogue team too). Dunno if it starts at S10 or even less, since Cata AT was at S11 or something. Cata is a mess. :')

ye but cata, like retail, is more about 3s than 2s anyway, its alrdy closer to retail and they didn't balance the game around 2s at all anymore, hence they remove titles from it also i mean, its not only stuff like that, you could run around as 2X rogue or 2X blood dk and be unkillable gods allmost, so it makes sense they finally make it uncompetititve xd (even wrath s8 2s with sm warr/pals was not as meme, not even close) some people gave tbc and wrath 2s shit 24/7 for different reasons but cata 2s is entirely different story and next level meme... so for serious pvp gotta go 3s and play 2s just to troll around/learn specs/classes or just for conquest cap and 2200 weapon farm maybe

@@RazoonxFor 3's half of the classes in the game become unplayable though. There's like 4-5 comps that do well, and RSham becomes one of the only viable healers in most cases. On Cata AT fking Fire/Frost/RSham became meta, due to how dumb the shatter damage is. Other than that it's just Lock/Sham unkillable unless 3 DPS hit one target.
