The vast majority of 7000 and 9000 Series processors can run at 6200 Mhz while keeping a uclk to mclk ratio of 1:1. This has to be set in the BIOS. About 60% can do 6400. Only a golden chip can do 6600 at 1:1 as this requires running the uclk at 3300, something that is rarely stable at ambient temperatures. If you can't get your 7000 or 9000 series to run at 6400 1:1, and you want the very best performance, getting 8000Mhz Ram, and running the Uclk at 2000 as opposed to 3000, in sync with the Fclk in 2:1 mode will get you the best performance. Both 6400mhz@ 1:1 and 8000mhz @ 2:1 outperform 6000mhz @ 1:1. It just takes tuning and knowledge, and may not be worth seeking for the average consumer over 6000MHZ. Once you go into 2:1 mode on a modern Ryzen processor, the limitation on your RAM speed becomes your motherboard silicon, and not your cpu silicon.

@VexOoo-x7y By running Uclk=Mclk/2 or 1:2 mode, and running your RAM at 8000 mt/s You can also do 7800mt/s, and 1950 uclk, with a fclk of 1950.

just upgraded to a kit of teamgroup 7200 mt/s cl34 for my i7 14700k from 6000 cl30 corsair vengence. I see a boost in performance in cpu intensive games..

If you ignore stability issues, can't you just disable amd's uclk settings? About a week ago I had turned my ram speeds down from 6400 to 6000 because I saw the same issue you highlighted, but I searched it up recently after. I disabled it in the bios, turned it back up to 6400 and checked, and I no longer saw the 2 to 1 ratio anymore.

So there are a lot of wrong explanations in this video. While the intent is honourable, the technicalities are a bit more complex. Bandwidth and Latency are the Key Factors here. If i increase my Bandwidth by 30% i can increase my Latency by the same amount and have identical performance. The QVL sadly doesn't guarantee the EXPO profile to work. Going over 6000 MT/s and AMD CPUs not liking it is just plain false. UCLK on most chips goes to 3200 @1.3vSOC. 3300 you need a great sample to hit at 1.3vSOC. This means you can run MCLK and UCLK at a ratio of 1:1, however they are technically not synched like in precious generations i.e. Ryzen 3000/5000. MCLK, UCLK and FCLK run completely independent and can be tuned independently. MCLK is the Memorys Clock, UCLK refers to the Memory Controller Clock and FCLK is the Infinity Fabric Clock. When you turn on EXPO and you notice your UCLK dropping by half, you can manually set it higher and see if it works (it should be up to 3200 without tuning). Intel CPUs have a UCLK as it's just the Memory Controller Speed, unlike with AMD however you can't manually set it but i can be derived by knowing the memory speed and gear the controller is running at and dividing the speed by the gear. Above 8000 (which does require you to know what you do, same on Intel tbh) you will almost always beat any kit that's 6000-6400 on BW and Latency unless you run stupid loose timings and a CL of 54. Even though the Latency of the tCL looks worse, the sheer BW offsets all that. Also you can run 8200MT/s at a tCL of 34 and the UCLK is 2050 and be much much faster than a kit of 6400 tCL 26 with 3200 on UCLK. It's not that simple. The increase in RAM performance between those two is roughly 20%

But for Intel, you need the fastest memory possible (depending on the 'silicon lottery' of your IMC, Motherboard and RAM modules) and the lowest latencies possible to even remotely come close to AMD's performance. It's easy to spent 300 to 400 dollars on RAM for Intel if you're pushing the absolute best.

6400 cl32 is pretty much the best if it runs stable in 1:1 ratio with your cpu memory controller clock speed. Same latency as 6000 cl30. I got lucky with my 9800X3D and it runs perfectly at 1:1 6400 cl32.

100% correct, I did find that a lot of the 9800X3Ds and 7600s ran 6400MHz CL32 I tried 3 more CPUs after this video with the Silicon Power RAM, and they all ran at 6400MHz CL32 on an MSI B650M Gaming Wifi 😊
