I went solo for the first time ever on a cruise a few weeks ago. I joined a group cruise through other KZbinrs and met another solo woman who watches you two as well! Long story short we decided when we went to St. Thomas we would try to recreate the food tour you did! We also went to the Yoda Guy museum in St. Maarten. We both had a blast! If you go back to Catalina for the day, the trick is to take the first boat out of Long Beach that way you arrive about 7:30-8am for breakfast then book the latest boat back so you don't get stuck up in the hills hiking and you miss the boat... Then you can relax and get the most out of the day. And if you get bored, you can always change your tickets for an earlier boat back to Long Beach. They have the largest number of boats back and forth.

In the 7th & 8th grade we went on a weekend trip to Catalina and we stayed in like cabins right by the water and went snorkeling and learned about all the wildlife on the island it was great! Perks of growing up in Southern California. We weren’t close to the town Avalon we were more close to the north end of the island

Last year in September, I have been to Catalina Island just by taking a ferry boat from Long Beach. My family and I, as well as some family friends that came with us, walked around and even rented our own golf carts to explore the rest of Avalon. We then got ice cream from Scoops and ate at Bluewater Avalon.

Thank you for taking us on your adventure and review of Catalina Island. I used to take my kids there when they were young as a weekend getaways. It looks like they have a lot of new restaurants and shops. I'm not sure if the Wrigley Ranch is still in operation, but it was something the kids used to like watching the horse show and I remember awesome carnitas tacos at a little hole in the wall place next to a bar with karaoke. Sounds like a possible future trip in our own backyard for 2022.

My wife and I spent 3 days there for our anniversary in October, and had a great time. Did and interior tour in a HumVee, drove a golf cart all around, did some biking, stayed at the beautiful Hotel Avalon and experienced quite a few restaurants. hi kitra and peter...my wife and i have been to catalina over 40 times .. we love it that much.. now if you want to have a great time jump on the catalina express out of long beach..and stay for the weekend...or longer at one of the hotels on the island.. thats what we do..we live in upland.so we drive to long beach jump on the catalina express ..and go spend the weekend..you will love it...

Hi there ! There are lots of hotels on Catalina Island now but a great place to stay is the Aurora Hotel. Good places to eat are Steve's steak House, Avalon Grill, The Lobster trap & Maggies Blue Rose. Been to Catalina many times. We even stayed a weekend there. It’s a must see for anyone visiting CA. The Casino was never a gambling house. The word actually means a ‘gathering place’. It was a very popular ballroom with great bands in their day, as well as a theater. I’m glad you enjoyed the island. It’s actually quite large it’s length is about the same as the distance from long beac. We sailed there a couple of times to the isthmus out of Huntington Harbor near seal Beach.

You can always go back! We were lucky enough to do the glass bottom boat (not sure if they still have that), the jeep ride, and the boat ride to go see dolphins. It was the most amazing day!
