Catalina Island Tender To & From Carnival Radiance 2022 - Wheelchair Accessible Transfer

In 2022, we took our first cruise out of Long Beach, California to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. We were so uncertain of the details regarding boat transfers with a power wheelchair. Chris and I did as much research as we could, but ultimately decided to document our adventure to share with everyone else that may have the same uncertainties. We definitely learned a lot, and you'll see that in this video! In this video, we were sailing with Carnival Cruise Lines Radiance.
For those that don't know our story, Chris sustained a spinal cord injury in 2020, C5 incomplete. At the time of this video, he was still limited in core control and used reverse approaches for steep inclines he encountered, such as entering our accessible van. While that worked in our daily life, it did not go as easily the day he transferred from ship to boat tender to reach Catalina Island! All in all, we had a great time and were so appreciative of the assistance and care all ship and tender staff showed us on this trip.

Which room did you stay in? I've booked 6707, just wondering how accessible it was in your power chair

@@ashbash0711 We stayed in 9206. I will upload the review video we took! I completely forgot to post that one! :) Chris was able to get in and out with no problems. He uses a Permobil M3, 24 inch width, 35.5 inch length, and 52 inch height, weighing approximately 400 lbs.
