Catalina State Park Tucson - MTB riding, Camping, and Ruin exploration.

Catalina State Park is just north of Tucson, AZ. A great place to spend some time during the winter months. I camped, mountain biked the 50 Year Trail, Chutes, Gem Trail and others. I also explored the Romero Ruins located inside the park.

that is a very fun place to ride. there are so many Hohokam Indian stuff all around Tucson, I have many videos of these places on my main channel.

Man, glad I found this vid! I am staying at Catalina state park in November. Going to ride El Tour De Tucon century ride, then staying a few extra days to get some mountain biking in. Going to hitup this ride for sure, and of coarse Star Pass, my old time favorite back in my college days. Thanks for posting this, excellent vid!

I escaped that place with relatively little cactus in my body. As far as the shoulder goes, well, we will see how that goes!

Hey quick question, staying here in a few weeks, how far is The Chutes from the campsite? I have an 8 year old daughter and I want to take her on a loop but am not sure how long the loop is in relation to the campsite. Checked trailforks and such, they show the loop but not the campsite, which for all I know is right next to it lol! Thanks for the vid, was good watching it a second time

The Chutes are 8 miles up the 50 Year Trail from the campground. Not a particularly difficult 8 miles, but I'm sure it is different through the eyes of an 8 year old. I think there may be closer access from the Miraval Resort area. Feel free to follow me on Strava. The ride is titled Santa Catalina Mountains.

Just discovered your videos and really enjoyed them. I noticed you haven't done any in a bit. That injury still holding you back?

Glad you like the channel. The injury lingered for quite a while, had to do some rehab. Meanwhile, returned to work. Considering getting back out there. Editing videos is a tremendous amount of work, but rewarding. I'll know in the next couple of months if I'm going to give it a go again...stay tuned!

You took a large crash, to injure the shoulder? Did you tear the upper bicep tendon?

Negative, I have what's called frozen shoulder. I've had 3 injections and 6 mos of rehab. It's better, but not quite there. Thanks for asking.
