ACCESS TO capital has been one of the biggest roadblocks to the growth of the Indian healthcare sector.
Though public expenditure has historically been meager, the private sector has recently seen an upsurge in building healthcare infrastructure in the country, with active participation from private equity players and an increase in FDI. However, to usher in the next wave of growth in Indian healthcare, conventional modes of healthcare funding will need to be complemented by innovative modes of funding to improve healthcare investments.
