I've had two catalytic converters stolen from Honda Elements in Tulsa, OK. I installed the Cat Clamp on one of Elements afterward, which cost about $200 w/ shipping and took several hours to install; and looked ridiculous if you looked under the vehicle, but it was never stolen again. After buying my 23' Tacoma and looking up the cost of replacing the catalytic converters, I ordered and installed the Cali-Raised Shield for $190 w/ shipping (includes 2 shields, one for each cat), which took less than 30 minutes to install. They look amazing and have easily been the best value upgrade I've ever done to a vehicle. I highly recommend this product.

I went with Miller for my last 2 Tacomas including my new 2022 TRD Sport. Your dealer stocks and installs them. More importantly they are covered under warranty through your dealer.

Good info....I liked two things on the Cali Raised versions - 1. They're separate units, much easier to install. 2. Price, for stainless steel they're less than 1/2 the cost.

I ordered mine April 1st 2023 and till this day I have not received mine. I am really disappointed with how long it’s taking to get my covers. The bad part is I told a couple of my Friends and they also bought some for their trucks but they still have not received theirs also. I will be giving Cali a call again tomorrow to see what’s going on…if not I will have no other choice but to get my money back.

I like the look of Cali Raised, but I just got my new Tacoma on Sunday. I didn't want to wait 4 to 5 weeks, so I ordered the catshield on Monday and got it today. Catshield is no lead time.

Hey, I recognize that screen name! 😃👍. Yeah, Ford really screwed some people on the Bronco. I was all set for one in Sept of last year and with all the crazy mark up, I couldn’t spend $70k for a $50k Bronco. I also realized that to replace my FX4 F150, it would have cost about the same. So, I downsized. I considered the Ranger, but they just look dumb….and I’m not a 4 banger/turbo kinda guy. So the Tacoma was it. Ended up with the TRD OffRoad 4x4. Great truck so far

I own a 2022 Tacoma 2.7L 4 cylinder, why don't they make these for the 4 cylinder Tacoma? I looked online they say only made for the 6 cylinder Tacoma's.

They have only two configurations at the moment - V6/Auto/4wd and V6 Auto/2wd. They just came out with these two in the past couple of months.

Thinking about buying one of these. Why only two security bolts on each side. Wouldn’t 4 each side be better? Are the security bolts the same? If so, thieves can buy a set of these cat shields just to get the keys to steal from any truck with this brand of shields installed.

The security bolt/driver isn’t anything special….I actually had a set of torx security drivers here in my shop that fit perfectly. The goal with a cat shield and the security bolts is to let the thief know it’s not worth the time. I like the fact that it’s 2 security bolts, 2 12mm bolts and 2 14mm bolts per side. If a thief has all of that on hand, it’s not going to matter

I really haven't seen anything for 1st gen's. I read this thread on Tacoma World that has some good info: www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cat-theft-protection-for-1st-gen-tacomas.765479/ It sounds like 1st gens might not be targeted as they don't have enough of the precious metals that either newer cars/trucks or hybrids have. You might not need to worry about it
